Head lice

I know it had been asked probably a thousand times but I really have no experience how to treat it at all.
School called this morning saying teacher found head lice in DD. (No idea why I didn't spot this before the teacher did, bad mum I supposed 😂) So I just bought the lyclear shampoo. Do I combine it with the shampoo on? Ppl talk about using conditioner then comb, is this the same thing.
Ok then after that, do I need to repeat tomorrow or few days later?
Some forum talk about using tea tree oil as prevention. Is this supposed to be used regularly when it's all gone.
I know I need to wash the bedding etc. Is the normal wash ok? Not sure if I should (or how) to wash the car seat ....
Feeling lost, any experience sharing is appreciated 🙏

No idea about Lyclear, sorry. We're using Hedrin mousse for the 4th week. They're stubborn little bastards!

Follow the instructions on the box (each one is different - I'm not being flippant).

Go through her hair, section by section. Google what an egg, nymph and louse can look like. Each time you catch something either crush it or make sure it's dropped in a bowl of water (water doesn't kill them but stops them wandering off to find a new home). I've not used Lyclear so this might be after you've used the shampoo, in which case now is the time for conditioner. Make sure you rinse it out though when you're finished.

Hot spots are back of the neck, behind the ears and just at the forehead. These aren't exclusive places but if your daughter has an infestation you'll definitely see one there.

Tea tree can act as a deterrent but it's not foolproof. We bought vosene with tea tree for years and it worked well for my girls.

Make checking for lice a weekly routine at least. Sit down with conditioned hair and go through it. Ours is a Friday night unless I see them scratch then I'll pounce anyway! it's much easier to treat if only eggs than if they can run away!

Don't worry about the car seat. They can only live off your body for a couple of hours. Overnight will make the car seat fine again.

Good luck!
