Aldi All in one 'not intended for sleeping in'

I recently bought one of these

www.aldi.co.uk/baby-printed-velour-all-in-one/p/085377238974900

I assumed it was a sleepsuit and wanted to put my baby in it on cold nights, but then when washing noticed the care label says 'Not intended for sleeping in', it's also on the website.

Why would this be?

Because they might get too hot?

Celebelly · 11/02/2019 21:21

Not breathable material if it gets over their face?

dementedpixie · 11/02/2019 21:22

I agree is probably an overheating risk

I'd assume in case of overheating. My house is very cold, I would happily use that as pyjamas.

I’ve found all velour all in ones say that (after noticing on one I looked at others) and I think it’s because the material is less breathable and they can get hot quickly. Usual sleepsuits are actually very thin

TildaTurnip · 11/02/2019 21:24

Also, it is better to use layers than one thick layer.

It won’t have passed the proper flame retardant tests

Sleepwear has to be fire resistant, clothes don’t.

There was a campaign around this when Claudia Winkleman’s child got burned while wearing a Halloween costume

I thought it was that clothes did, but what CW's daughter was wearing was classed as a toy.
