Formula question re night feeding

What age do formula fed babies no longer need a bottle in the night? DD2 is nearly 6.5 months old & has been waking once or twice for a bottle recently this has been happening for a few weeks now, it all started when she was got poorly with a bad cold (which she still has) Sad. Should she be even having one now? She isn’t eating much solids yet either.
Thanks

For my twins, about 14 months - then I started watering it down. Very common for babies to wake up for feeds in their first year, some will sleep through but there’s no problem still giving it to them if they need it.

Follow your babies lead. We stopped at about 6 months because he started to sleep for much longer and if he did wake was/is happy with a cuddle. He was an absolute milk monster during the day at that stage though!

I would give my DD her last bottle at midnight, then next one at 06:00. We dropped the 03:00am bottle at round 16 weeks. Bit earlier than some, but she has never been a big eater/drinker :-)

Yes it’s normal for babies toneed mulk durring the night. DD stopped needing milk at 13 months.

Babies still need formula / breast milk until they're at least 1 years old.

My son was still drinking formula at 6 months, around 4 bottles. 1 in the morning, 1 in the afternoon, 1 in the evening and then 1 during the night. Do not worry about your daughter not eating much solids as milk is still their main source of nutrition until they're 1, then she can have cows milk.

He slept through without needing milk when he turned 1 years old. He still occasionally woke up during the night for a feed, depending on whether he is going through a growth spurt or just wanting it for comfort.

Mine stopped night feed at 5/6 months. By then we were down to 1 anyway

Thanks all, Sometimes I don’t actually think she wants feeding when she wakes I think we may have separation anxiety that has kicked in. She used to be a dream sleeper this past month it’s got worse & worse. Sad

They do but not during the night.

Most HCPs believe the baby should not need night feeds once they are established on solids and having 3 meals containing proteins, fats and carbs. This usually happens before 1 year (and often takes place between 7 and 9 months).

We dropped DD dream feed when she was 8 months. We could have probably done it earlier but we tried to avoid early morning wakings and made sure DD was not too hungry first thing in the morning. Dream feeding helped with that.

DD1 was about 15 months, DD2 12 months.

DD1 still woke multiple times a night until she was 3.5 however, just not for milk!

‘Soydora’ my DD1 wakes numerous times a night still & she’s 3.5!
