Anxious playdate novice needing basic tips here! I need tips for having my 4 year olds friend round after school (reception). He has been round for playdates before but only had snacks so looking for ideas for what they can eat. No allergies. I know I can ask parents what he likes and I will but just after general tips and ideas of what to cook

Plain pizza is always a winner, or pasta where they can choose to put sauce or just grated cheese on it

Whatever you would normally cook for your son! You could play it safe with sausage, chips and beans or pasta bolognese, most kids like those or make your own pizza usually goes down well at playdates.

I gave up trying to give visiting children family meals a long time ago OP.

Give them plain pizza or if you want to cook a bit give them a small pizza base each and let them add sone toppings.
