Should children have transitional objects? is there a time where there is no need for them? and at what age would you draw their attention away from carrying a comforter or transitional object? Thank you

There's no should about this. TO's are comforting to children and they give them up when they are ready without fuss or angst. What leads you to ask this question?

A Transitional object is an object such as a teddy, a blanket or anything that the child uses to comfort themselves when their main carer is either unavailable (Eg at night) or not enough. It's a term used first by Donald Winnicott in 1951.
