Baby Wipes - Which Brand Do You Use?

Just wanted to know what type of baby wipes people prefer using?

I?ve had a hard time in the past trying to find a good wipe for my lil un Ryan, as i find most wipes are too harsh for his skin.

However, just recently been using Huggies Shea Butter and so far so good, no irritations!

No handbagaddict, MIL still does that to DS
I'm sure wipes aren't that bad, but much prefer water and cloth

Hels67 · 04/07/2007 11:52

Simple Baby extra soft wipes (perfume free) for general/out-and-about cleansing and extra pooey nappies, and warm water and cotton wool while at home

clutteredup · 04/07/2007 11:54

The cheapest fragrance free, either supermarket own or what's on offer. sometimes BOGOF are still pricier than supermarket one.

use cloth wipes

just run them under the tap

GreebosWhiskers · 04/07/2007 12:02

I just bought a cheapo fleece blanket from Primark & cut it into squares (more or less ) to make wipes which I use with water.

When we're out I use Boots own fragrance free ones & one pack will last months as long as I remember to close it properly.

I won't use Huggies since a mum at toddler group said she uses them to clean her carpet as they'll remove any stain - I just think imagine what they'd do to baby's bum!

laneydaye · 04/07/2007 12:04

Its johnsons for me.... the original pink ones....

hippopowell · 04/07/2007 12:23

Marks on walls come off perfectly too I found with Pampers(was given free trail pack)

SoupDragon · 04/07/2007 12:24

Pink johnsons are foul. They smell appalling.

Whichever is BOGOF and unscented.

SoupDragon · 04/07/2007 12:25

all wipes remove stains etc from everything BTW, even Boots fragrance-free ones.

Enid · 04/07/2007 12:34

earth friendly baby - they smell nice
or boots senstive ones - really good I stock up wthen they are BOGOF

Enid · 04/07/2007 12:35

agree all wipes take anything off anything

i use them to clean my paintwork

hippopowell · 04/07/2007 12:35

imagine what they do to baby's skin[skock]
cloth & water me or cammomile tea & honey make a lovely solution

SoupDragon · 04/07/2007 13:17

"imagine what they do to baby's skin"

They clean it oddly enough. They don't strip off the skin! It's only an issue if your baby has particularly sensitive skin

Chattyhan · 04/07/2007 13:25

i use tesco fragrance free and stock up when they're 3 for £3. When DS was little used cotton wool and water. My sofa salesman told me to use baby wipes to clean the leather - brings it up lovely

OhMyCod · 04/07/2007 13:27

The one on special as long as its fragrance free. I can bare the poop smell, but mixed with that crappy perfume makes me sick!

Chirpygirl · 04/07/2007 15:14

Am so glad I am not the only one hating the smell of wipes, why do they stink so much?!

DH once bought fragranced wipes and I had to take them back as the smell lingers on everything...bleurgh.

(nothing against using them or worrying about skin BTW, I just think they smell rank!)

Whooosh · 04/07/2007 15:29

Higgies for poo as they are thicker and Tesco own for wee.

paolosgirl · 04/07/2007 15:32

Fragrance free supermarket own brand - unless one of the other brands is on BOGOF. Never had any reactions from my 3 - perfumed ones are a bit eye-watering though.

tasja · 04/07/2007 15:34

Huggies - they are the best for me. don't like Pampers or Johnsons.

laneydaye · 04/07/2007 15:49

Imagine what they do to a babies skin????
Have had 2 lo's and their skin is fine!

archiesmummy · 04/07/2007 17:05

They DO contain a lot of chemicals let's not forget this!!!

paolosgirl · 04/07/2007 17:08

Mmmmmm...but those chemicals don't half do the job! Lovely - and no reaction from any of my 3

SoupDragon · 04/07/2007 17:13

"They DO contain a lot of chemicals let's not forget this!!!"

Yes, chemicals designed to clean skin. Not paint stripper and bleach!

Just like baby lotion, soap, shampoo, nappy creams and a whole host of other things designed to be put onto human skin.

Tutter · 04/07/2007 17:21

agree soupy

i use pampers sensitive - find huggies rip really easily

mosschops30 · 04/07/2007 17:27

I love the asda ones, have only just started using them after borrowed one from a friend. They are the cotton soft ones, 2 for £2 and so much better than pampers or huggies, they seem to clean and er ..grip things better IYKWIM
