Parental responsibility help

My ex just picked up our son, he said that he's looked into it a lot and because he has parental responsibility he can tell me now that at the beginning of March he's taking our son to Scotland for a week and there's nothing I can do about it.
We have a child arrangements order that states that he has him one day a week with one overnight attached, and pick up/drop off is 8.30am or 5.30pm depending on which side of the day the overnight is.
He'll be in violation of the court order if he does this without my consent?

No advice I’m afraid but watching this thread because I’m terrified my ex will decide to do this! I think technically he can take him out of the country for 28 days without my permission but I’m not sure if that’s supposed to be if it fits with his time in the court order or not

I would also like to add that we did a parenting agreement and agreed that we will inform the other parent of any holidays that interrupt the normal routine at least 3 months in advance.

This is from a solicitors website:

"Permission is not required provided that the holiday falls within any contact schedule or arrangements which have already been agreed. If, however, the holiday will require an amendment to the contact schedule it is important that the parents agree to the change.
If parents are unable to agree to the change of schedule, an application for a specific issue order will need to be made to the court."

Now that's for England and Wales. Whether Scotland is classed as the same, or is classed as abroad I'm not sure. But either way, if you have a CAO it looks like you can refuse and he'll need to get a specific issue order as it's out of his contact time.
