Best travel buggies?

Hi all, we're going away next month for a couple of weeks with my 14 month old DD.

I want to make sure we have a nice comfy but practical travel buggy for her, one that is easily folded away, but is comfy enough and suitable for her to nap in. The one that we have at the moment is an obscure brand with a really short/shallow seat so it just looks really uncomfortable!

Anyone got one that they'd recommend?

Thanks in advance :)

We've only just got ours so I can't really give a review, but we got the babyjogger city tour.

Thanks liv, will check it out :)

We've also got the baby jogger city tour, we bought it to take on holiday when my DD was 15 months. It was very practical and lightweight and dd napped well in it. We often use it more than our other pushchair now.

We have an ickle bubba Aurora. Great buggy, awful name.

littlestrawby · 29/01/2019 12:57

john I have dismissed it on the basis of the name alone Grin

Thanks both, I shall investigate!

Another vote for the City Tour. Got it for hols as fits in its own backpack etc and now it's used everyday over the bugaboo!
DC2 is 2 1/2 and still has plenty of room, even DC1 who is 5 is comfy enough in it.
Good price too!

I bought a Quinny Zapp Xtra2 when DD was 12 months old for our holiday. I used it for the next few years for her and our younger DS.

It's very comfy, has a HUGE hood that protects from the sun and folds down very, very small. I loved ours and it sold on 2nd hand for pretty good money!

ems137 · 29/01/2019 13:08

Oh, and it lays down almost horizontally. I even used it for a day trip when DS was a newborn it was that comfy.

Silver cross zest because of the huge sunshade and it goes up to a higher weight limit. I think cuggl do a copy of it for much cheaper.

Baby Zen Yoyo Smile

Are you going on a plane?

Lara53 · 30/01/2019 17:36

Maclaren all the way

E20mom · 30/01/2019 17:40

I'd recommend baby zen yo-yo or joie pact. Pretty much the same but the yo-yo is £200 more Wink

seanceinterrupted · 30/01/2019 18:40

I have a baby zen yo-yo that travelled with us for 18 months through 13 countries and lots of flights/car journeys etc. We stopped travelling but I still use it most days for my almost 4 year old (before you all tut at me, the school walk is unsafe roads in this country and with 3kids I need to keep the littlest safe).

Anyway, buggy is great. Has stood up to heavy usage much better than I ever expected.

littlestrawby · 31/01/2019 11:02

Oh thanks everyone, lots of suggestions! @llangennith yep we will be going on a plane which means we need it to fold up nice and small

The reason I asked re plane travel was that 14 ago when we took DGD then 6 months old to Tenerife, we bought a small fold up buggy which was adequate for her to sleep in. When we got to the airport we saw that most people had taken their huge, comfortable buggies. After that we took her three wheeled buggy until she was three or four and it meant she had somewhere to rest and have downtime on the beach or out in the evenings. Good for us all!

Yo-yo

It's been a world changer

CottonSock · 31/01/2019 11:35

I had an ickle bubba and was a fan, until it broke, then the replacement did too. Replaced under warranty, but still a pain, especially when on holiday and it wouldn't collapse. Same fault second time

Shmithecat · 31/01/2019 11:40

If you want it to be able to go in the plane as hand luggage, you need to discover each airline as they all have varying dimensions and weight limits for hand luggage. For example, I have the yoyo which is fine for BA but not for Thomas Cook. It's a fab pushchair. If you're not worried about taking on as hand luggage, your choices are much greater. I've travelled with a Baby Jogger City Mini GT in the hold - big seat, huge hood, robust enough for the hold.
