DD not using pram anymore

Bought one of my DCs (7yo DD) a silver cross play
like mum pram online for Christmas as one of her main
presents as well as two dolls, fake diapers a bottle with
fake milk that I bought from Tesco and a rain cover for
the pram. It was an investment, the pram cost about
£120 alone.

The pram could fit two dolls, it seemed to have enough
basket space to fit the dolls items in and my DDs lunch
for when we went on walks and the wheels looked
sturdy enough to last a while. I thought she would use
the pram for a while as she'd been nagging me to buy
it for her

however, whenever she takes the doll out for walks
in the pram she gets judgy looks from people passing
by so recently she's stopped using the pram. She really
enjoyed taking her dolls for walks. I've tried telling her
that she should ignore what other people think of her
but she just can't seem to as she's still refusing.

So that's money down the drain and it
hasn't even been long since Christmas.
AIBU to want her to still use it?

Any ideas on
how to make her understand that she should ignore
the judgy looks from people passing by? She won't
listen to me

I don't see why people are being judgy. If a child wants to play with a pram that's fair enough. It's not a gun. Encourage her to play with it in the house, join in the games of getting the dolls ready, feeding them and any pretend play that goes with it - maybe the dolls have an argument about where they're going. Then take it out again in a month or so when it's not so 'new'.
It sounds like a great present.

Why don't you push it on the walk initially too? That way she'll see you don't care so she doesn't.

How does she know people are judging her? I must admit 7 is quite old to be pushing dolls round in a pram. I'd expect 3 or 4 year olds to be doing that.
However it is rude to openly judge. Is it adults or children judging her?

My six year old adores her baby and her pram. Its completely normal! Love the idea of you showing her it’s completley normal x
