Flying BMI advice

Hi
Just a quick ask to see if anyone can help. I have just booked first flight with baby from NI to England and wanted to check to see if anyone else had experience of flying with them with infants. Little man is still in bassinet and it says can take a collapsible pushchair so I am wondering if uppa baby pram with detachable bassinet is pushing the limit! Are they likely to charge extra? I am getting an insert to try out the seat as he is a big baby and will be nearly outgrowing the bassinet. I was thinking of getting a bag for pram then and collapsing it down and packing it away. Will probably put LO in sling at airport. I also would ideally be travelling with car seat but ours only works on isofix so I would need to take the base. Would this count as one item is they were attached and checked in? You can check in one 10kg item apparently.
Thanks in advance this seems quite daunting!

It depends who you’re flying with but usually you get two free checked baby items (pushchair and car seat, or car seat and travel cot, etc). They can be any size, within reason, of course. I took my full sized pushchair though I would recommend a cover for any of it to protect it from getting damaged and dirty. If you have a sling or carrier, that will make life a lot easier as you won’t get your pushchair back until baggage claim. You also usually get an extra carry on for baby. Thankfully it’s a quick flight so you won’t have much to worry about on the plane.
