Sleeping

My girl is 14 weeks old and she WILL NOT sleep in her own bed. She can be out cold in my arms after a bottle. but as soon as I put her in her chicco she wakes up and starts moaning. As soon as I put her back in our bed and start patting her bum she falls to sleep again. I push her over to the chicco and she wakes up again. HELP!!! We want our bed back, and I don't want sleep problems in the future.

It’s normal. Goggle the 4th trimester. Honestly bed share. She is a tiny tiny baby and needs you.

I know but surely it's bad for her to always be in our bed?. She is being so all mum at the moment and won't let my put her down even on her play mat in the day. I'm hoping it's a faze and it was blow over.

Nope it actually best for her development to be snuggled up with a parent. It is impossible to cuddle a baby too much. I’m sorry to say just wanting Mum is a completely normal thing.

Completely normal, it will pass. Seems like it's taking forever I know, but it does stop IF you keep trying, she will go dwn. I had a premmie and felt like forever and ever as we had to go through the 3rd & 4th trimester. Now sitting with my 1 year ds who has been up most the night teething! 😁

It's not bad unless it's bothering you? Don't worry about future problems or what you "should" do. Just think about whether it's OK for you now. Usually babies of this age change so often. Every couple of weeks or so try again to put her in the cot if you prefer that and see how she goes. One day she'll surprise you and it will work.

You should not bedshare if either you or your partner smoke. And you mustn't drink alcohol with her sleeping next to you (as if you feel like drinking with a non sleeping newborn anyway) - be careful to keep her away from your duvets and pillows, too.

Try warming the cot with a hot water bottle before putting her down, and using a sheet (or something firmly tucked into the mattress) that smells of you.

Thank you all this is really helpful I don't mind her in bed put partner partner does so need to try and break the habit of I can. What about naps In the day? she will not nap unless its on my lap. People have been saying to put her in her room and let her cry abit and she will eventually fall asleep on her own i feel awful leaving her to cry.

EmmaJR1 · 15/01/2019 12:15

Don't leave her to cry - she's tiny! My 7 month old us asleep on my lap right now.

Don't listen to "people" do what you feel comfortable with.
