Mother in law with her opinions

Hi everyone just wondering if I can have all women’s opinions that are parents.
Basically I live with my mil, my partner and my baby atm. My mil is always interfering when it comes to my 6 month old son and never got anything nice to say about me to anyone, it’s either she knows best or it’s not right and disagrees, she thinks I’m raising my son wrong she’ll go to her daughter and say she’s concerned about his feeding rather than come to me, she’s told her that I starv my baby all afternoon then fill him right up at at teatime which is totally wrong she works nights so she is in bed most afternoons so she doesn’t get see to see me feed him in the afternoon, my partner darent say anything to his mum because it might make things worse, I always make sure my sure my son his clean fed and changed and she knows this as she sees him everyday! She’s started to become a problem in mine and partners relationship but it’s tricky because we live under her roof. Now she’s bin having an opinion because I go out to bingo once a week on a Wednesday, I’m on about starting the gym a couple of times a week to loose abit of baby weight, and leave dad with baby when he finishes work. But I always make sure the teas done for when he comes home from work the bath is run babies fed and bathed, pots are washed and put away. Her opinion is that baby should be with me 24/7 because my partner works and I shouldn’t be allowed to go out and have an hour to myself hear and there. I always feel like I’m getting judges no matter what I do my opinions don’t matter it’s really getting to me and I don’t know how to make this better.
Please don’t comment if your Guna give negative opinions I don’t wanna hear it. I just wanna hear other sahm opinions on how to deal with it
Thanks

Wednesday bingo has got to go.

Owwlie · 14/01/2019 20:40

@mimibunz

Why? The OP goes out once a week and leaves the baby with their dad, why should she stop doing that just because her MIL thinks she should be solely responsible for the baby?

mimibunz · 14/01/2019 20:42

Sorry, was joking.

She feels she has the right because you live under her roof. You have to move.

Rachregan27 · 14/01/2019 20:44

Thank you for understanding shiningstar he has said that we will do certain days for gym etc and I have mentioned this to him and said that I can't take anymore but he don't want to move to a private rent I don't know why he just won't! He has agreed with the gym thing which is a good but it's just his mum even though we've decided between me and my partner she still thinks it's wrong for me to leave baby with him but he don't stand up to her and says nothing 🤔 x

Rachregan27 · 14/01/2019 20:49

We have previously split up because of all this and I stayed at my friends for nearly a week and it was lovely! But my partner and his mum made me feel guilty saying I was taking the baby away from them, I wasn't! I said you can come get baby any time you'd like and I was only round the corner, x

@Fabaunt is wrong. You living under her roof doesn't justify her being nasty to the mother of her grandkids. You are your child mother NOT her. I'm in the exact same situation and before I used to stay quite but now I stand tall and if I have a problem with her and talk to her about it. Sometimes all you need is a woman to woman talk. Although I don't feel like you should even have to explain yourself to her. She way out of line.

Owwlie · 14/01/2019 20:55

@mimibunz

Oops, sorry for my over reaction Blush

I suppose the benefit to her wanting you to never go out is at least she's not trying to send you away to get DC alone.

Just hope you can get out asap and start saving like mad in case you need to move into private rent urgently.

Are you sure your DP really wants to move out? Or is it very convenient for him still having his mom around to sort things for him?

Rachregan27 · 14/01/2019 20:57

I have spoke to her lovely but I just feel like I have to justify myself all the time to get her approval of things or just get on I after agree on what she wants not what I want, I just need to stand tall and tell her how it is and how she makes me feel but at the next breath she'll fall out with us for weeks and makes it awkward, she doesn't like to be told no when it comes to me baby or partner 🤔

Rachregan27 · 14/01/2019 20:59

Owwlie I thought and said this to him and he denies it but does seem like it's more convenient for him! X

Mummylife2018 · 14/01/2019 21:13

people can be very patronising and sanctimonious on here if they get so much as a sniff that an op is not a middle class owner occupier. get tugging those forelocks peasants.

@MadameButterface Well said!!!

Rachregan27 · 14/01/2019 21:30
