Inspiration please - what does your 8 month old eat!!

Hi all
I'm looking for a little inspiration please, what do you feed your 8 month olds? I've been a bit of a wimp and I think I'm relying too much on Ella’s Kitchen and purées. He grabbed a bread roll from me in the week and proved quite comprehensively that he's ready for more Grin

He currently has:
Porridge for breakfast
Lunch is usually an Ella’s Kitchen pouch Blush
Dinner is a home cooked meal but puréed! Followed by a yoghurt

He is also still having formula, he has about 800ml a day.

He's not a fussy eater and he'll eat most things. I just think I'm not offering him enough food as he's still having a fair bit of milk (although I know he needs at least 500ml until he's one)
and want to cut out the lunchtime pouches.

Please let me know what your similar aged babes eat on a daily basis! Thank you

At that age I was feeding my DS everything. I bought a BLW cookbook and made everything from scratch. He ate mac and cheese, toad in the hole, lasagna, roast dinners, pizza (it takes awhile to get the dough right), beef stew, chicken risotto etc.

You can feed your child the same foods you are eating, just make sure you used unsalted butter to cook and don't salt their food.

If you're nervous about choking, try pastas. Mac and cheese is easy to make, also tuna and sweet corn pasta, asparagus pasta, etc.

Breakfasts:
Chopped up banana or berries with a toasted and buttered crumpet
Scrambled egg
Weetabix, Rice Krispies, shredded wheat (well softened with milk)

Lunches:
Cheese on toast
Omelette
Cubes of cheese, cucumber, slices of tomato, pieces of pitta bread, cooked pasta shapes, slices of kiwi etc...
Lentil cake www.healthylittlefoodies.com/curried-lentil-bake/

Evening meals:
Pasta with cheese and tomato sauce, carrot or broccoli
Meatballs or tuna balls and rice
Shepherds pie
Mild bean burgers
Pearl barley stew
Risotto www.madeformums.com/baby/chicken-and-vegetable-risotto/24367.html
Fishcakes
Frittata
Yorkshire puds were also popular with my DC.

My 8 month old just has what I have (with no salt and full fat dairy). So yesterday was porridge for breakfast with a ripe soft pear, tuna mayo and tomato on pitta for lunch, omelette for dinner. He’s never had purées because we did blw.

Thank you everyone. I will definitely start doing some of these suggestions for lunches! And for dinner, will stop pureeing his meals to mush

I hadn't even considered crumpets or omelette, such easy things so that's great too!

Thanks again

Buy this cookbook OP. It's got all meals covered and the recipes are really good. The lasagna is the best I've ever eaten and there are a lot of really quick and easy meals.

Thank you @LordPickle I will do that - I'm much better with a cook book than my own imagination!
Thank you

DD just ate what we ate - often off our plates. Never made anything especially for her. Never puréed anything.

Ds has everything we have but pureed, not a fine paste, some lumps and I've started giving him tiny bits of whole food to chew on as I've been terrified of choking, he has 8oz a day so 250ml and is 8 months. He had the joys of fajitas today!
