Day off

When I was on maternity my in laws would take my twins for one day and I got to do whatever I want. It was bliss. I sorted the house , got stuff ready for them and maybe went for a hot cup of coffee.

I'm back at work 2 days a week and I'm not as good of a mum. I dont get time to think , I'm doing something every day. Go go to.

I know I'll probably get welcome to the real world type comments but I think mothers should get a day off a week.

Yep cause that’s how parenting works

If that's what you want then pay for a day of childcare when you are not at work.

We have no local family. The only time we get time off parenting is when try dc are at nursery/school and we take time off work.

Now both dc are at school, DH and I rarely take leave at the same time, in order to cover school holidays between us. Bank holidays (and I don’t get all of them) and 1 week overlap only.

Your 1 day a week during Mat leave already puts you ahead of many parents!

I know I'm lucky.

You won't get any sympathy here from this lot.

I totally agree though, time to yourself to reset and rewind is magic.

Grumpy lot lol

In an ideal world absolutely. I sent mine both to nursery on the same day once a week for this reason. If I was really rich I'd hire a weekend nanny two Saturdays a month so I could just relax in the morning and go out to the gym/lunch etc.
