Baby/toddler room sharing ideas

Hey! I have two crazy boys aged 3 and 1. They share a room, however, space and storage is a major issue. Their room isn't big enough for a cot, bed and all their furniture never mind toys and space to play. We are now thinking of a bunk bed idea, toddler bed on top and cot at the bottom. Does anyone have this? Or similar? If so where from and how much was it? I'm open to suggestions as well.. help!

Maybe not helpful, but I wouldn't consider bunk beds until quite a bit older! My youngest is 3 and I wouldn't even want him on the bottom bunk, as I'm sure he would be messing about and climbing the second I was out of the room.

Is the shared room for the long term, or do you expect to move before they get much older?
Is there anywhere else you can store toys?

To have more floor space, have you tried toy hammocks or floating shelves?

We kept all toys in the living room until they had separate rooms and we moved house. This was to stop messing about at bedtime as we wanted them to sleep!

How much furniture do they have? Ours only had a small narrow wardrobe each and book shelves plus a small chest of drawers. We had a cot and cot bed in one room - it was about 4*4m

We expect to move roughly when the youngest is 4 and oldest 6.
No no other space to store toys, already have a hammock for teddies but could add floating shelves!
They have a changing unit with drawers (We are converting this into drawers only) a wardrobe and a set of drawers. Considering built in wardrobes but then that limits where my toddlers bed can go without the toddler/baby bunk bed idea.

Look into Marie Kondo folding. You should only need one chest of drawers for two toddlers.

Hey I looked it up thanks, I already fold their clothes in a similar way. I need hanging space for jackets, snowsuits and shoes. It's only a tiny wardrobe they have between them. Definitely need the 2 drawers unless I bought bigger drawers as they are full. We live in Scotland so lots of bulky warm clothes but thanks for the suggestion. I'm really interested to know if anyone has the cot bunk bed idea? That would work well in the shape of their room.

Would you not be best off just going for a conventional bunk bed and then adding a removable side piece to the bottom? Else in a year or two time you’ll be replacing both beds again to up toddler into a single bed?

Get rid of the wardrobes? Get IKEA wooden spice racks, paint whatever colour you want, turn upside down and use as a clothes rail with shelf above it for shoes.
