How are the kids going to feel

Speaking to a few friends recently and they have all started to remove or not use pictures of their kids on their social media anymore.
They don't want backlash from said child and have decided to keep their life private from there's.
It really got me thinking how are mummy bloggers / insta mums children going to feel in said future? Do you think we should respect that our children are people in their own right and may not want a picture of them taking their first shat on the toilet turned into a social media storm?
Something that really made me think was celebrities these days are hiding their children where as tom from down the road posts a picture of his sons full day every day.
Do you think there will be a surge in parent teen breakdowns over this? Are these kids safe from ridicule when they are older from peers? What about if someone claims to know their parents when they are old enough and are groomed. So many questions it really got me thinking do you constantly post pics of your kids?

I posted first pic of my DD when she was 9yrs old, with her consent.

I've posted 1 pic of my 3 month old DS to announce the birth but nothing else and don't plan to either.

I think parents these days forget their children grow into adults one day and once it's on social media it'll always be there one way or another

I set up an Instagram page for my dd as she loves to take photos of street art and fashion. I cover her face with stickers though as I think 11 is still very young to be open to the scrutiny some face on social media. I wouldn't post photos of her with her name or her face I just think it makes kids way too vulnerable.

Wasn't there a case in France where a teen sued their parents because they refused to take down photos of them?

Had a quick Google and it's not just France. I think that teens have every right to say no to photos online.

I don't have any pictures of my DC online. There is far too little privacy in life anymore. People lack boundaries.

My DCs range from 18-5 yrs.

I’ve never put a pic of any of them online and was seen as a loon for telling friends and family not to put them on Facebook.

It was insane in those days though. People genuinely thought I was being an arse for politely asking them not to post and tag the DC.

I work with the media industry and think social media will eventually be a hugely positive force but it’s like the Wild West right now and I’d rather let the DC choose their own internet presence.
