7 year old bedwetter and sleepover party

DD is 7 and sometimes wets the bed. Its bot every night or even every week but every now and again she'll have a little spate. She's just had one because of the excitement and tiredness of Christmas I think. If she goes to bed exhausted, I know she'll probably have an accident. Even if fluids are limited or if she's lifted, she'a just in too deep a sleep.

As its sporadic, we havent tried an alarm because it seems pointless and I dont think shes of an age where its so concerning she needs to go to the doctors, so she hasnt had any 'treatment'.

Anyway DD's best friend has invited her for a sleepover next weekend with their three other best fri3nds. She reallly wants to go but is terrified of an accident.

Im trying to think of solutions. She wont countenance a pull up for the night. Shes also pretty shy so the thought of anyone finding out is excruciating for her.

Any tips?

would something like this work? she could go to the bathroom, slip these on, put her pjs on top and as there isnt plastic in them, they wouldnt crinkle.

They look much better than a pull up, thanks!

Let the host parents know - they can help her discretly dispose of them in the morning.

I’ve been in the same situation with my ds who is older, I told the parent and she suggested taking a sleeping bag and he if he did anything no one would know. I also put spare pj bottoms in just in case he needed them .

The bedwetter pants shown in a small window on the page pointed to by poster sleepismysuperpower1 www.ubershop.uk/Uber_Store/Changing/Reusable_Nappies/Night_Nappies_and_Bed_Protectors/Bedwetter_Pant might work but not the training pants which are the main item on that page - they look to me like daytime training pants for a much younger child and I'm pretty sure, after much experience of the problem, they wouldn't cope with a 7 year old's bedwetting output. The bedwetter pants are are said to absorb up to 21 fluid ounces - 600 ml or so.

What about Tena disposable pants? They don't feel too nappyish, from reading (been looking at the various ones for after I give birth in a few weeks) and look just like normal pants.

My kids are late developers for night time. Dd was 8 when she became dry, ds2 will be 7 in a couple of months and still not dry. We use huggies dry nite things, the only thing that can cope with the amount of urine a child of that age produces! Pull up and a baggy onsie so no waistband showing is the way to go. They've been on beaver and cub camps etc without getting found out.

My dd’s had 2 girls over for sleepovers in recent years who were occasional nighttime wetters
Both mums let me know and I discreetly helped them put on a pull-up and got rid of it in the morning without my dd noticing !
I’d say have a word with the sleepover mum, it’s understandable your dd doesn’t want her pals to know
