My daughter is really struggling at school so to get her ready for days we bought her all the Oxford practice and revision books. When she had finished them we would go through them and let school know what she as struggling on. However after two attempts at the books and still struggling she has decided to cheat and copy all the answers from the back of the book and then lie to me and my wife. I told my daughter i was very disappointed and not happy. I didn't shout i just showed how upset i was. I've confiscated her kindle and laptop. I also explained why she was wrong to lie and go we only want to help her. I'm now feeling like the worst Mum in the world and feel like it's my fault. Have i done the right thing! Is lying and cheating normal for a ten year old? 😢

Lying isnt great at any age, but in my opinion (as a teacher and a mum) pressuring and expecting so much from a child is so out of order.
Doing her best should be good enough and she needs to be supported to do just that.
I was told as a teenager if I didn’t get top marks I needed to move out and it was absolutely soul destroying as I knew it wouldn’t happen Sad
