DD 15 months soaking through night time nappy

Currently we use Aldi 4+ for my DD which work perfectly during the day, but at night they've started soaking through and her front ends up soaked. She's a front sleeper and the back of the nappy ends up staying dry just the front is overloaded. We've tried layering a 5 on top and also just using a 5 but it still happened.

Any suggestions of what we could try would be welcomed please. I was wondering about layering a 6 on top or trying a different brand of nappies.

Fold up a micro fibre cloth - 3 layers and fold in half top of it’ll fit. Pop it in the front of the nappy. Prewash a few times to help absorbency. Alternatively a micro fibre cloth nappy insert/ disposable nappy pad. We also used a cloth nappy wrap over our disposables at night which contained wee leaks well

We used to use cloth with DD so had all the kit when DS started to wet through Aldi nappies overnight. He's almost 2 and we now use an Aldi 5+ with a cloth booster insert inside. Then we put a cloth nappy wrap over the top. I'll link what I mean in case you're not used to cloth!

It works really well because the nappy just needs a bit more absorption. We probably don't need the wrap because it's never been wet but we use one just in case. In the morning, the cloth insert goes in a normal wash and we tend to use the wrap for two nights. I'm not sure how two disposables would work but it's definitely about getting more absorption rather than just stopping the leaks.

We had this problem and found that a different brand for nighttime worked best. So say pampers overnight ones in a size 5. For my DS it was pampers but with my DD currently 14m and having the same issue only Huggies seemed to work. I guess it just depends on their shape and the fit of the nappy

(We still use aldi/tesco/whatever is on offer during the day, but the more expensive ones are totally worth it overnight in my personal opinion)

Buy the next size up. This always worked when ours did this.

Pampers never let me down at night

We use an Aldi 6+ nappy at night with a pull up over the top and haven't had a leak for months now.

HabbyHadno · 01/01/2019 19:28

Not Aldi, Lidl. The Lidl nappies and pull ups are the best.

I've had this exact problem with my 4 month old DS since be was about 10 weeks old. He's already in Lidl size 4 (big baby!) but would go through most nights. As we bed share it was proving a nightmare with washing his clothes, sleeping bag, and often our bed sheets too. I tried cloth night nappies... two nappies....cloth inserts in a disposable....but the easiest and most slim line solution I've found is to stick a Tena lady incontinence pad (I use minis) inside the nappy, particularly towards the front.
He's never gone through since!!

Iv used these with my 8 month old and noticed during the day his baby grow feels damp Tesco's own are really good never had a issue with them cheap too xxx

DS has this problem. We found putting a nappy on normally, and then putting a second nappy on backwards, so it comes higher up at the front, kept anything from leaking.
