Worried - need hand holding!

I took my DS to see the gp last week because he was excessively sweating and being a FTM I wanted to get him checked.
It's mainly his head and when he is tired or having a bottle/porridge. And it's not just a bit. The back of his head is soaked.

Doctor checked his heart, pulse, temp, ears, etc and said he seems ok but to go back if it happens again. and take a video to show her.

He is always clammy and hot anyway but this bout was a bit unusual.

This evening I got a call from the doctor out of the blue -and after hours on new years eve! - asking how DS was and can i bring him in this week because she wants to assess him again.

The fact that she called randomly, an hour after the surgery closes, on new years eve, and they are closed tomorrow, concerned me.

Now I'm worrying until they open again and I can make an appointment.

Wish she had waited and called me Wednesday morning instead!

I'm worried there is something wrong with my boy and I'm scared. She kept asking if anyone in the family had heart disease!

Someone calm me down please!!
Not how I wanted to start 2019!

How worrying for you. I wouldn't read too much into the timing of the call though. I work in a vets and left our vet at work tonight catching up on phone calls. So probably the same for this dr as i bet she has to catch up on calls in the evening. If it were more urgent she wouldn't have waited until late to call and she wouldn't be telling you to wait until Wednesday she would be packing you off to hospital right away.

Still, it won't stop you from worrying so here's a hand to hold.

Oh Angeliki i’ve Commented on a few of your other threads, you are having a rough time aren’t you.

Like LEM says, I wouldn’t read too much into the time of the call and yes, I’m pretty sure she would have sent you to hospital straightaway if it’s was serious.

Let us know how you get on tomorrow Brew

Angeliki159 · 02/01/2019 15:46

Thanks both! Got an appointment booked for tomorrow.
He seems fine in himself so hopefully it's noting to worry about.
Its amazing how protective you get over your child!
Fingers crossed all is ok.

Difficult being a FTM with nobody around to talk to. I don't have any mum friends or any baby groups near by or family etc.
And I keep getting an ear bashing from the HV if I stray from the "current rules".

Hope you are both doing ok..can I ask why they have referred him?

Angeliki159 · 12/01/2019 00:39

They are concerned that he may have a heart condition because of the sweating.
Been checked and seems ok. Got to get a blood test done asap tho.
They were more concerned that his weight has been dropping. So got to get him weighed weekly now.
He should be having 6oz x 5 but he won't take more than 5oz.
For the past week he would only take 3 or 4 oz and a random 6oz if I'm lucky (once every other day or so)
I am offering him a 6oz every 4 hrs apart from his first bottle which is 5oz (He has 3oz and gives up)
Last feed at midnight, first feed at 8am
