What would be the best wrap for my DS please?

Hi

My DS is 9.5m and has been using the onelife nappies with the onelife popper wraps. So far so good. He is currently in their size 2 wrap but it's about time he went into a bigger one as he is about 21.5lbs (they are supposed to go up to 20lbs but the elastic round the waist and legs always goes a bit loose I find so they just about fit still).

I could just get size 3 but I am wondering if there is a better option? I like the poppers but they do seem to get a bit sweaty sometimes. He is quite a heavy wetter at night and I put in an extra booster so the wrap needs to be accommodating.

Thanks

That's the wraps getting sweaty BTW, not the poppers

Hi Nine. Have you considered wool at night? My LO (22 mo) needs 4 boosters at night so her day wraps just won't fit. We use the Disana wool pants - they're not great to look at but very cheap for wool, work really well and who cares what they look like under pj's anyway? We've found they work a treat, and they let air circulate better.

For day time we've always used Motherease airflow and I swear by them.

As long as I don't have to knit them myself! Seriously though, where do I buy wool wraps (I think I'd be happy with the Disana ones too by the sound of it derah, I'm not fussy about what they look like either), and also the airflow ones? I just buy the onelife from my local baby shop but they don't do anything else and I don't want to shop there any more because they are rude and unhelpful.

Sorry for extra questions! Also am I right in thinking I have to lansinoh the wool wraps or something?

Hi Nine

You can get wool wraps from pretty much all of the online nappy shops. I like kittykins but they're all good.

You do have to lanolise wool wraps... you can get wool cure at the same time as you buy your nappy. You only have to do it every few weeks (once the wrap starts to smell of wee even after a day's airing), and it's really easy. I just wash the wraps on the wool cycle of my machine, then soak them overnight in wool cure, squeeze out most of the moisture and then do a gentle spin in the machine. I have 2 wraps cos with the overnight soaking and a day or two to dry, one will be out of action for a couple of days and you'll need another.

I promise, you'll never look back!!

PS - just a warning though, once you've discovered online nappy shopping you're doomed cos there are so many wonderful nappies out there and they're all gorgeous and you'll want to own the lot!!

Ooops, my bad... I'm new to MN and didn't realise that some of the posters on this thread sell nappies.... it would be cool if you could support their shops.

Flame · 27/06/2007 20:40

lmao - we'll forgive you

NineUnlikelyTales · 28/06/2007 10:48

Aha I forgot you do nappies Flame - can you post the website so I can get spending please?

Thanks again derah, I can definitely manage that. Are you working for flame? If not you should do
