How do you politely tell a good friend who is sick to not visit you and your baby?! You'd think it would be common sense but don't want to offend?

Oh God don't be polite, this is non negotiable.

You could just present it as a done deal I suppose: 'oh that's rubbish we can't see you this time, when shall we rearrange for?'

Smurfy23 · 29/12/2018 19:37

Yeah id just say "sorry to hear you are so unwell. Shall we reschedule for next week when you are better?"

mindutopia · 29/12/2018 19:40

^This.

It’s common sense. Don’t feel like you’ll be rude. If you must feign some plague that has struck you all down and that you aren’t feeling up for it.

Should you even have to say?

"Sorry to hear you've been unwell, better cancel our meet up as can't too risky for the little one, when suits you next?"

tablelegs · 29/12/2018 19:49

Don't give the option of would they like to rearrange for next week. Tell them you're rearranging for next week when they're better.

MustBeAWeasly · 30/12/2018 14:41

Your friend shouldn't even be thinking of visiting!
My friend has just had a baby. Me and dd are sick, we won't be going anywhere near them until we've been better for a few days!

Thanks for the great advice! X
