What TV shows for two year old? (Preferably a bit educational!)

Hi there,

DD is 2 and a quarter. She likes a little bit of TV in the morning and sometimes between dinner and bath time. I’d quite like to have a bit of variety as I’m a bit bored of watching the same things over and over! We don’t have a TV license, but do have the ability to watch DVDs.

She likes Mr Tumble, alpha blocks and anything with LOTS of singing. Anyone got any suggestions for us to try her on? Most Disney DVDs are a bit too nuanced for her still (she loves Moana, but Frozen was way too complicated a story for her)

Ideally I’d like to pick something vaguely educational to ease my guilt for putting her in front of the telly while I load the dishwasher Grin

We only watch CBeebies as I don’t do adverts and I think their programmes are quite educational. DS is two and he likes the Go Jetters, Bing, Octonauts and Andy’s Dinosaurs/Safari/Prehistoric Adventures. The less educational ones he enjoys are Postman Pat and Peter Rabbit. I think most of them are on YouTube in some format (Bing seems to be compilations of bits of episodes) as well as on DVD on Amazon.

Justin Fletcher did a series of educational DVDs called Bee Bright. DS has one about farm machines as he loves tractors and combines, there are quite a few though. There are previews on YouTube as well.

I suggest Mother Goose club or The Wiggles

DD was into Bing at that age but it might send you mad. Hey Duggee might be better.
