son just turned 15 has a little tash. I think it looks pretty untidy. Am i being unreasonable to ask him to shave it. You do see it a lot but with the refusal to have a hair trim a once truly good looking boy is looking decidedly scruff.

Just leave him. He'll shave it when he wants to.

Tell him you’re growing yours too and would love some tips.

Watch as he runs for the razor.

zenasfuck · 22/12/2018 16:37

Yes YaBU

Does he dictate to you what you do with your body hair ?

Catsandbootsandbootsandcats · 22/12/2018 16:39

YABU. I have 4 teenage boys, and they all have hair on their faces. And it's totally up to them to shave if they want. We have razors at home, and shaving cream etc, but at the moment they choose not to.

No one gets to tell me to shave. I get to tell no one to shave.

Dimsumlosesum · 22/12/2018 16:43

You wouldn't force a girl to shave her body. Don't force your son.

GobblersKnob · 22/12/2018 16:46

Have to say YABU, sorry. His body his choice.

KiteMarked · 22/12/2018 16:46

It's really not a big deal. As long as he's clean and tidy, I'm sure he looks completely fine!

Gravel1 · 22/12/2018 16:47

I haven't forced him although I did suggest he had a shave - just know it looks like he's trying too hard to show he's growing up and from this adults perspective it looks naff

Buy him an electric shaver.

Freshprincess · 22/12/2018 16:50

The only thing I insist on are daily showers and brushed teeth. mine knows I don't like his 'goatee' but also that it's face so it's up to him.

Gravel1 · 22/12/2018 17:31

god so I HAVE TO FACE THE FLUFF But thanks all

So does my 15 year old and a little beard he reminds me of shaggy from scooby doo Grin.
If he doesn't want to I'd leave it , think it's a trend at the minute he probably thinks he's all manly.

Freshprincess · 22/12/2018 17:40

The other one is Clean shaven but has a fringe down to almost chin level. Where did our cute as button little boys go?

I was a goth at their age so I've no room to talk.

C00lio · 22/12/2018 17:45

Mine is 13 with a big hairy caterpillar tash and very resistant to doing anything about it.

His school insists that boys are cleanshaven, though, so I reckon its days are numbered without my intervention.

italiancortado · 22/12/2018 17:56

Omg of course YABU. This is not your choice.

italiancortado · 22/12/2018 17:57

from this adults perspective it looks naff

Oh ffs. How awful.

Bring back the days when school said get your hair cut.

My school was really strict about appearance, they sent a note home when my hair was curlier than usual. I'd slept with plaits in! Boys were short back and sides or a weeks detention. No facial hair, no hair dye, definitely no make up. There would be a riot if they tried to enforce that round here, and that would just be the parents!
