OCD

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post but I'd just like to know if anyone has experienced anything similar
I have a DD of 22 months. She has this thing of kissing, I know she's of an age where she knows what kisses mean now and is such a loving little thing but when she kisses something she seems to have to kiss everything around it.
One example is she has started to notice the flowers on the wallpaper in our front room, she will kiss one then continue to kiss every single one she can get to, even dangerously trying to climb/move to get to others. If she kisses one person in the room, she kisses everyone in that room. Her Grandparents have gems on a shelf by their door and upon entering and leaving their house she picks up all of them to individually kiss them.
Is this just a stint or could it be some sort of OCD?

I suppose it’s hard to tell if it’s a phase or something else. Have you done the m-chat? What’s her risk level?

@JiltedJohnsJulie I've just looked into that and I'm not in the US however looking at the questions I wouldn't say there's anything she doesn't do such as pretend play, pointing, eye contact. I'm not so much worried about autism but perhaps OCD in itself

It is very unlikely a child that young has ocd. OCD involves not just compulsive behaviours but obsessional thoughts which are distressing and which the behaviours aim to neutralise.

If no other signs of autism it’s quite possibly just a phase - in which case ignoring and/or distracting are your best bets because you don’t want to inadvertently reinforce it by paying it attention. Make sure you give lots of positive attention to other things she does that you do like, instead.

@Hashbrownsandbeans thank you. I did think at this age it would be ridiculous to say it was OCD but looking at symptoms of autism etc she doesn't seem to show any.
I will take onboard your advice, it's not like she's harming anyone in doing what she is but just seems so odd and could put herself into a dangerous position in climbing etc to get to something
