Is leaving my baby to cry whilst I make his bottle affecting him?

My baby is generally a good baby and happy but I sometimes have to leave him to lay down whilst I make his bottle and he goes hysterical and there’s tears, goes bright red etc and I feel awful.

Yesterday it was quite bad. He seems really quiet today and not smiling and I wonder if it’s affected him Sad

I’m not into control crying or letting them cry but I don’t know how to make his bottle without having to lay him down. I always like to make it fresh so making it beforehand isn’t really an option. I have the Tommee Tippee so doesn’t take that long but feel likes a lifetime whilst he’s crying.

Also he gets hysterical in the car sometimes, does this affect them too?

I always used to make it up in advance and give it straight from the fridge. Neither of mine seemed to mind cold milk and it meant you could feed them when they were hungry not be faffing around stressed with a crying baby. Is there any reason you feel it needs to be "made fresh"?

But I don't think he'll suffer any lasting damage if he sometimes cries whilst you make it up.

I worried about the bacteria build up because formula isn’t sterile? It says it’s nit recommended

Op I know how awful it is hearing your LO scream for milk, you are doing nothing wrong and as your using perfect prep it's a matter of minutes.

current guidelines is to make up fresh so if you can keep doing that.

How old is your LO? You can get premade up bottles already with teats sterilised which I found a life saver at the start.

You can also get pre made bottles which would just be a case of pouring in to your bottle so quicker that using the machine.

I used to make them up one handed whilst carrying baby if it got really bad.

It will get better once they get more into a feeding routine.
