Hi all! Im looking to take the conversion course for postgraduates in psychology and have a question about how feasible my plans are.... Do you think its possible to complete a level 2 and a level 3 course in one year given that I completed the introduction to psychology 8 years ago and will be living in Australia for a year with DH and DS (aged 1)? Am I mad for even thinking I can swan off to Oz and come back with 2 thirds of my course complete?? I dont want to embark on something I cant complete however, as I wont be working while were away it seems a good idea to get as much of the studying done as possible. Any thoughts?? Ta!

me again!
yes i think its do-able! Just! i am planning on doing 2 level 3 courses at once if i do the diploma..
and your psychology intoduction course is still acceptable as not 10yrs old (OU restrictions say courses should be in the last 10 yrs)

good luck! think you have to apply before july dont you??

That's true. It looks like I will embark on this, I'm a bit nervous as I have a terrible track record of starting things and then going off the idea (I could almost see DH thinking "here we go again" when I first mentioned it to him ). Still, this seems to be a sensible plan with a defined career at the end of it so why not?! I've got to decide what I want to do when I leave school at some point, especially as I am on the slippery slope to 40!

allgonebellyup - I've realised from another thread that you're thinking of training as an ed psych - snap! Do you think we're embarking on something feasible or in 5 years time will we be posting messages about "how do I get a job when there is so little opportunity"!

oooh you sound like me with the starting things and changing your mind - ive started 3 courses this year and then dropped them!!
yes am hoping to train to be an ed psych though i know it will be v v tough and i am a newly single parent too!
Have no experience in schools either so that will take another 1-2 yrs as well as the diploma!!
then i hear a lot that the ed psych doctorate courses (3yr) are so competitive to get on to that it makes me wanna give up already! (but i wont!)

good luck!
