Night nappies

OK Does anyone want to help me with night reusables. I'm using mio prefolds with littlelambs/rikki and they are nowhere near lasting the night (we mainly use disp. at night) so what do you all suggest? I'm thinking we're only going to get wetter iyswim.
Also I quite like the idea of rainbow bots fleece (I think!) at night but if it is slightly breathable don't you just get wet sleepsuits/PJs.
TIA

How old is your dc? The red Tots fleece wrap is thicker than the rainbow one apparently. I only started using it once ds was turning over at night as the one time I used it when he was younger it did leak from him being in the same position on his back.

I do like it as a night wrap though as it looks so comfy. Ds seems to actually be wetting less at night as he gets older weirdly. It's the first nappy of the day that seems to get the hit! I use fluffles or bambineos at night and they last no problem. You can boost them if you need a bit more absorbancy.

Bamboo or microfibre is definately best for night.

My current fave (I am fickle and change my fave regularly ) is a bamboo quick flip with a jam tots in the middle (DS has started demand several bottles a night and its about all that's coping with the wee!!), with a wool wrap.

I agree that the red wrap is better for night - its double layer fleece all over rather than just down the middle, making it less likely to leak.

I have succseeded with a boosted bambinio shaped nappy at night with a red wrap - was going to try a rainbow but read that the red wrap was more suitable for a night.

I'm a bit behind the times with the "latest" reusable, but I've used totsbots nappies and motherease wraps on ds from birth (he's nearly 2 now) and never had an accident/leakage at night. I boost them with a cotton bottoms insert (simply because someone gave me a pile of them!!) and that works really well. Never had to change a wet bed or sleepsuit.

I mainly use a fluffle with bamboo booster + airflow works great. Got a tots fleece but he was quite dam p in the morning, so poss it's too small and/or I shouldn't have put a vest on instead of sleepsuit?

fluffle boosted with a muslin, with a bummis popper wrap- absolutly massive, but very cute and deffo no leaks!

snugglebumnappies · 25/06/2007 11:27

thanks everyone I'm such a novice I'm off to google all your nappies now!!
I take it the red fleece is just that, the one that comes up everywhere.
Miaou no leaks you must be the prefold queen, I have been pooed on about 8 times last week alone (and that was mainly disposables)
So what do you boost with and how? nearly there do you just artfully arrange a standard muslin across the top? the rest do you stick in a fleece bit? With a fleece wrap do you not get wet pjs in am? I read you can just buy a microfibre cleaning cloth does that include the ones you use on cars? (clean of course)
bookthief dc is 6 months but big!!Thanks again

no leaks with washable nappies
highly recommend bumhuggers (you get a discount for mumsnetters at ella's house as well) but also like bambineos and bamboozles with boosters. i use bamboo boosters with a motherease wrap, never had a leak yet with a motherease
