Naps

Some advice about naps please!
My two year old has suddenly decided to kick off big time when put down for naps. She's always been really good at self soothing which we've encouraged but she's just not having any of it anymore.
She'll nod off in the car and pushchair but not bed.
(Still goes down fine most the time at bed time)

Is this the sign to give up daytime naps. It seems early as I have some friends that still put their 3 year olds down..
My daughter does struggle with behaviour and staying awake towards the end of the day but is this something she'll get more used too?

Thanks in advance!

I’d still get her to nap at 2. Will she nap if you put her in your bed?

Both mine dropped their nap entirely at 20 months...

My dd(also 2) the other month decided that naps weren't her thing anymore. She started kicking off a little when it was nap time and like yours just got a bit of a struggle towards the end of the day.
We now have 'quiet time' which is about half an hour - an hour later than what I would have put her for a nap.
We read three or four books (about 15mins) then I get her room ready as if for a nap except I leave the curtains open just a little and tell her it's quiet time, you read to your teddies or cuddle with teddies, I'll see you soon. Close the door. End of. Depending on how playful she is it lasts about 30-40 minutes on average, 20 of she's really not having it. But mostly now she actually takes a nap.
I then get her up earlier than I used to at nap times, and she goes to bed at a normal time. On the days she has no nap, she goes to bed at least an hour earlier.

This has solved any tantrums and difficult bed times for us.

That's a nice idea I think I'll try it. On the days where I can't get her to nap at all it's affecting her night sleep obviously over tired.

If she is dropping her day time nap then she needs to go to bed earlier on a night time.
