Introducing solids, how to get baby eating more variety?

My baby is nearly 7 months old and I started introducing solids at 6 months. I am getting concerned as despite trying a range of fruit and veg, purées and pouches, and some finger foods, she doesn't seem to like very much of what I'm offering! The only things she seems to really like are baby rice with breastmilk (I have been exclusively breastfeeding up to now), banana, avocado, cheese, hard boiled egg, bits of whole meal bread. I am really nervous of giving her the bread though in case it chokes her. ...is it safe? Please can you suggest anything else I can tempt her with? I was looking forward to introducing solids and wanted to do a mix of babyled and traditional weaning, but now it's becoming a real worry especially as my friends' babies seem to be contentedly eating whole hot dinners by now! Please help...thank you.

Maybe try toast instead of bread. Keeps its shape better too. Pasta, meat, cheese? Dd liked anything if it had cheese sauce on it

It’s like any developmental skill, they get there in their own time. How are her teeth? My DD was a late teether and didn’t eat much in the way of solids until she got to 1. Until 12 months, foods are just for fun, her main source of food should be breast milk. Anecdotally, the other babies I know who weren’t much interested in solids were also late teethers.

You don't need to rush things just give your baby a breast milk as the main source of food. You can slowly introduce solids but not solids which are hard to chew.

My 15 month old really wasn’t that interested in food until he was about 9/10 months old. I’d always give him something for breakfast, lunch and dinner and just let him eat what he felt like. He was breastfeeding 3-4 times a day on top of this. Now he has a great appetite and eats 3 proper meals a day, plus snacks...and still has two breastfeeds a day! He’s a gannet!
