Daytime naps

Hello all, my seven week old completely refuses to nap in the day unless he is in the pram on a walk. He seems so alert and looking around that he just can't settle. We've tried naps in a dark room, white noise, hot water bottle etc, or naps downstairs, but the only thing that eventually works is when he falls asleep in our arms. Does anyone have any tips please?! Thank you so much in advance x

It's a bit of a mn cliche, but have you tried a sling? They do love sleeping on you, and getting out the house will help set his circadian rhythm. If you've got a sling library near you, see if you can give something a go?

Is there a problem with him napping on you? He’s so tiny still. Have a google of the 4th trimester Smile

I can second the sling suggestion too Smile

Thank you for the sling suggestion. Yes I know about the fourth trimester and totally love and agree with it. But after seven weeks of 8 hours of daytime naps on me, plus 12 at night I thought it was about time I tried to find a balance - perhaps one nap a day in the basket Smile

Sorry, I know it's been 6 weeks or so, but the other thing I thought of was the buggy - mine lies flat, so is suitable from birth. He wouldn't countenance sleeping in the carry cot in the buggy from about 2 months, so I spent hours every day walking him in the sling. But I suddenly thought to try the buggy, and instant snooze. Worth a try? It's just a slightly different motion. And then I felt really stupid for not thinking of it sooner.
