Dd will be seven in January, and im thinking of doing something a little more grown up for her this year, was wondering about cinema with a friend and lunch out? Or party tea at home, with a couple of her friends over too? With it being shortly after Christmas a larger party may be out of the question.
Any other ideas anybody?

Bowling - works best with about 4 of them
If it's not too expensive, you could take them to a pantomime.
Ceramics cafe to paint a mug or plate.
A trip to the zoo
If you do a party at home, you could do t-shirt decorating. Just get cheap white t-shirts, some fabric pens and paint, fabric glue and a selection of ribbons, buttons and off cuts of material. Make pizzas for dinner.

Thank you! Hadn't thought about bowling! And the party t shirt idea sounds good! Great ideas ricekrispie22! Thank you! Smile

I did afternoon tea at home and party games. Afternoon tea was done as it is in any restaurant including cake stand but with hot chocolate, squirty cream and marshmallows instead of tea. She invited 5 friends and they were all shrieking at the grown-up-ish-ness of it all. I strung up bunting and put on a posh table cloth etc and used the good crockery. They all loved it.

Dd went bowling for her 7th birthday. We had 2 lanes - 12 people in all. Number 7 shaped cake from M&S, burgers and chips at bowling alley.
