Guilt

Does anyone else feel guilty when they leave their child to play with their toys rather than taking them out or joining in with play time? I get out of the house as much as possible but feel like a bad mum when we have a day or 2 at home and I just leave my DS to play with his toys (he is 9 months old).

You'll feel less guilty when he's 3 and can happily play alone and you're not getting mummy mummy mummyed every 5 minutes.

If he's happy, what's the problem? Nobody can give a baby their attention every moment. You need to eat, tidy, and many children have siblings that need attention.

Kids learn through play. It’s healthy for a child to be able to keep himself amused and I think it encourages their imagination. An essential tool in raising a healthy child. Nothing to feel guilty about.

No because if I sat and played all day then they wouldn’t get fed, their clothes washed, a clean house. I’m also still interacting with them, speaking with them whilst I potter with my chores
