What equipment is essential for weaning?

Do I need a footmuff for our buggy and what spec should I consider?

Also any advice on moving bub into own room - all advice gratefully received mamas and papas!

For weaning, really all you need is a high chair, floor coverings (I use big bath towels which can be shaken off and washed when dirty), bibs, hand and face wipes (I use cloth ones with water) and food. That’s it. We’ve done baby led weaning with both ours so they just eat some variation of what we’re eating unless it’s really unsuitable (then I offer an Annabel Karmel meal or something from the freezer).

A footmuff is really helpful. I don’t like snow suits as too much of a hassle to put on and off in the car. I have a Clevamama one that I love.

I have the ikea antilop high chair, so cheap and really good! Better than others that I’ve tried.

I’ve got a thin waterproof travel picnic mat that goes under the high hair, catches the food that is dropped so it can go back up to be chewed on again. Then goes in the washing machine every now and then.

All in one bibs with arms are brilliant!

Cheeky wipes reusable wet wipes for face and hands are brilliant!!

For weaning stuff I love IKEA, cheap high chair, bib, plates, bowls, cups and cutlery.

We did not move DD into her own room until 20 months so I can’t help there.

John Lewis own brand generic foot muffs are good.

weaning - high chair (we had the Ikea one), muslins and bibs, plastic bowls and cutlery (we had a good bowl from Mothercare with a suction base so she could feed herself without the bowl going everywhere. Angled cutlery is good for when they start to feed themselves, think I got mine in Boots. A variety of sippy cups, takes a while to find one that works for them - again, I think we ended up settling on a cheap on from Boots.

Footmuff, yes - we had a Bugaboo and just bought the one that went with the buggy - they hold their value so good for resale - or get one secondhand.

I honestly can't remember about moving her into her own room but I think we started with naps and moved on to bedtime.
