I've noticed that my new bottle of Calpol is bright pink again like the old days.. why have they decided to add colour back in after taking it away?

It varies, I have 3 bottles on the go, one upstairs, one downstairs and one in the changing bag, two are pink, one is clear.

It’s like a lottery Grin

fixxle · 29/11/2018 08:23

So weird! It must be a new thing so old bottles are still knocking about in shops

I’ve always been able to get the one with colour. Usually it sits beside the colourfree, sugar free version in the supermarket. Are you sure you haven’t just picked up the other version before?

There is two different ones isn't there? Colour free and not, normally next to each other on the shelf

Sorry cross posted with Spotting

Oooooh no I didn't realise!

These new bottles are from Tesco not Boots so maybe they stock the different ones

Unless you look for it it's not obvious op, there is normally a little circle on the front which says colour and sugar free :)

mindutopia · 29/11/2018 14:33

Yes, you can buy bought. Why anyone buys the pink one, I don't know. I can't imagine most children young enough to need calpol will care. But I do drive out of my way to go to a Boots where I know I can get the colour free one.

mindutopia · 29/11/2018 14:33

*both

CurlsLDN · 29/11/2018 14:37

mindutopia the sugar free one contains 2 types of sweeteners instead. Everyone has their own views on that but I prefer to give sugar over sweeteners to my baby.

Pearofwisdom · 29/11/2018 14:40

My baby is allergic to the maltitol sweetener in the sugar/colour free. Very happy they still sell the pink one!

CurlsLDN · 29/11/2018 14:40

Sorry, not sure I was clear. In answer to your question as to why anyone would buy the pink one

Pink has colour and sugar
Clear has no colour, but has sweeteners

So that's why I choose the pink one

ZackPizzazz · 29/11/2018 14:41

Yes, you can buy colour-free or not.

I've never understood why the standard formulation is dyed that lurid shade of pink anyway, unless it's to stain walls, carpets and children's clothes as much as possible.

SoyDora · 29/11/2018 14:43

I buy the pink one as I generally prefer my children to have sugar than artificial sweeteners!

minipie · 29/11/2018 14:52

I wish they would do one with sugar (not sweetener) but no colour.

Just in case Calpol makers are reading... Smile

twotees · 29/11/2018 17:25

I'll stick to the sugar one has it's a tiny amount and sweetners are worse
