My baby boy is 9 days old, he has occasionally committed after feeds and other times spat up small amounts of milk, should I be worried?

Sounds normal, tummy the size of a walnut gets full and cannot always cope.

If baby is just bringing up small amounts and isn’t distressed then probably fine.

They all vomit occasionally however you feed them. As long as they are gaining weight and are generally well, it's not a concern

It's not normal when:

  1. the vomiting itself distresses the baby (most of them burp or puke it up unbothered, and in fact getting it up makes them more comfortable)
  2. the baby is failing to gain weight steadily.

Practically all babies posset. If baby is gaining weight and doesn't cry when they spit up there is no problem.

As long as he's gaining weight and producing wet nappies and at least occasional dirty ones (some bf babies go days without dirty nappies) it sounds normal, unless there are other symptoms of illness.

Thanks guys, seems quite normal then...He doesn't seem to be in pain or anything, doesn't cry when he vomits etc, I suspect he's got a mild case of reflux which dr google says should clear up on its own, health visitor coming on Monday so will run it by them then
