Bruises on baby!

My 8mo is on the move and full of energy. He sits up, gets into the crawling position, crawls and scoots himself backwards, sticks his legs out of the cot etc. He’s gorgeous and full of smiles, learning so much so quickly!

He’s got bruises on his thigh, a couple of little dots. They look almost like finger marks and could possibly be from where I quickly grabbed him as he was (right next to me) trying to scramble off the bed. He has a doctors appointment tomorrow about possible eczema and I’m terrified he’s gonna think I’ve hurt him deliberately! He had a couple of light bruises a week ago on his arm from where he smacks the jumperoo and his high chair.

Obviously I don’t need to explain but he’s very well looked after and the other doctor always comments on it as how well he’s doing. HV said nothing at the weigh in Tuesday.

He’s breastfed and is offered 3 meals a day but has lost interest recently with a cold but he’s much better now. Could it be a deficiency? Has anyone had this or am I being OTT? He’s very pale in colour too but that’s just genetics, so bruises show more.

Please put my mind at ease? Thank you

My mother would bruise by almost looking at her, I’m the same. I would actually ask my boyfriend in the mornings if I had hurt myself the night before because I’d be covered in nasty looking bruises that were big and looked sore but I had absolutely no recollection of getting them. It’s just the way we are, there was nothing wrong with either of us but of course if you could mention it to your dr if you’re concerned

DD has always had at least a few bruises, usually on arms or legs since she started crawling. It's really normal, some kids just bruise easier than others. She's had blood tests for other things which have all come back clear, it's normal as they get more mobile.

I took DS to the OOH with a bad cough a few weeks ago and had to fully strip him down because the GP was concerned about the marks on him... until his own fingerprints marked him. He's just a baby that marks easily.
If you see them looking, you could explain and they (should) just say "that's babies for you"

TBH a few leg bruises on a mobile child with a plausible explanation and no other concerns about safety would not bother me (GP)

That’s so comforting thank you all! I’m the same I bruise from virtually nothing, and even picking baby up normally like getting him in and out of the bath leaves such red marks
