Formula on-the- go (tips)

I'm new to bottle feeding with my little one and I'm looking for the best way to travel with formula?

Unfortunately my little boy has CMPA so he's on prescription milk. I'm envious of parents that I see with the ready to use cartons which look so handy.

What are the best ways to prep for being out and about with bottles & formula etc?

Thanks xx

Get a flask That keeps the water above 70 degrees, some little pots to keep your powder in already measured up and that’s it

Is he on nutramigen? If so it makes it easier as it has to be mixed with room temperature water.

So sterilise bottle
Boil kettle add required water to bottle and allow to cool
Take formula out in pot mix when needed.

Get yourself a changing rucksack with a built in insulator for bottles. I take 3 already made and warmed bottles out with me in an insulator if we go out.

Yes we just take the bottles in an insulator too. My DD will drink at room temp so I make 2 up and then take ready made and a sterilized bottle if we're going to be out for long periods of time. That works great for us. I've never heated a bottle or faffed about with flasks.

My baby is also on hypoallergenic milk. I make 24 hours of feeds up in advance and keep them in the fridge, warming up when i need them.
For when i go out, I have a Tommee Tippee flask thing, which has a piece that you put the water in to heat. So I:

Take one bottle made up and already at the right temperature, if you're not going to be out long that's all you need! As above, put it in the insulated pocket on your nappy bag
For when that's expired or if you're going to be out for a while, take another one that's made up in a small bottle cool bag (so like it's in the fridge at home)
When it's time to feed, pour the boiling water from the flask into the pot which comes with it, put the bottle in there to warm, and feed baby!

That's what I do.

This is the item I have attached:

Get a formula dispenser so you can have pre-measured doses ready to go (like this but there are loads similar available www.pupsikstudio.com/philips-avent-formula-dispenser.html), and as a poster above mentioned if you have a formula that needs to be mixed with room temperature water it's super easy. Sterilise bottles and fill up with boiled water in the morning, take them out with you and when needed pop a dose in the (now cooled) water, shake, and you're away :-).

I used 2 flasks. One insulated tommee tippee one for hot water, one just normal flask for cooled boiled water. Plus a little pot for pre measured out formula.

I would pour in a little bit of hot water, add the formula, give it a shake then top it up with the cooled boiled water so it was ready to drink at a nice warm temperature.

i also pre make bottles before going out amd luckily my dd has always taken bittkes at room temp so ive never had to warm them up
