Breastfeeding - peanut reaction

Good evening,

Have any mums who have breastfed their LO's ever experienced a bad reaction in their baby when you have eaten peanuts?
When weaning and beyond, have your LO's had allergies to peanuts.
I'm scared my LG might have a peanut allergy (she is already allergic to dairy and soy) I'm just more worried about the peanuts for obvious reasons.
Does anyone have any positive stories of their LO's reacting through breastmilk but ok when they introduced peanuts directly to them?

Sorry forgot to say I'm seeing a paediatrician and dietitian about her allergies. But specifically on this subject they're useless. 😢

Sorry to hear about your little one's allergies.

Atleast you are aware early so you know to avoid, I didn't discover my DC's CMPA until he was 6mo and he tried his first solid food.

Unfortunately being allergic to CMP and soy make other allergies more likely. Just avoid for now and ask your GP to refer you for allergy testing.

Good luck!

PS: if your child's had a reaction through BM definitely don't give any nuts/peanuts until she's been tested. The reactions often get worse with every exposure.

Yes dd1 came out in bad eczema all over after I ate a pack of peanut M&M's. She was 5 weeks old. I decided to do three weeks break from peanuts then reintroduce peanut by me eating 1 peanut M&M and waiting 3 days, she was fine so then I ate 2, waited again and then ate 3. She stopped reacting when I ate them.

She is able to eat peanuts without issue now and has no nut allergies.

I ate nuts while breastfeeding her younger siblings without issue, they have no allergy now they are older.

I guess it depends on the reaction though, any sign of hives, swelling or breathing problems and I would seek specialist advice before introducing any nuts.

My dc3 reacted in breastmilk. After dc2 though (severe multiple allergies), I followed the EAT study guidelines and she can now eat anything.
