At what age did your baby go into their own room?

and do noisy babies (ds is almost 8 weeks) get quieter or is it all downhill from here??

about 12wks i think - we kept waking him tyrying to tiptoe around

Ds was 9weeks
DD1 was 15weeks
DD2 close to 5mths but she was going in with DD1

Ds was an incredibly loud sleeper
DD1 has asthma so is a snorer
DD2 just was not sleeping of a night so didnt want her disturbing dd1..needent have worried..lol

Aren't they just so noisy for the first few weeks! It does get quieter

from birth

Ds is SO noisy.. he seems to sleep pretty heavily (and quietly) until his night feed and then after that it´s like sleeping with a gremlin. Although if last night is anything to go by, he´s going to start getting noisy even BEFORE his night feed so between 2am and 7am this morning I feel like I barely slept for his moaning and groaning.

cades 8 months and still in with us. think he will be moving soon though.

Four weeks - DD was so noisy and snorty, like a little piglet, we couldn't sleep between feeds and DH has to get up at 6.30. We put her in moses basket in the cot with monitor by our bed for a few weeks, and she was absolutely fine.

DD - 16 mths (we were stuck in a one-bed). DS - 9 mths - started sleeping through the minute he went into his own room!

those who put them in own room fro birth,didn't you worry, or was it easier?

both ds and dd about 6 or 8 wks. It drove me crazy not being able to read before i went to sleep and I think it does them good to be in own room (especially with dh snoring )

I read somewhere that the highest risk of cot death (particularly with boys) is between 2 to 4 months because of the change in their breathing pattern. The day that ds turned 4 months, he was shunted out into his own room as he was too noisy at night.

That said, he was moved back into our room when he was almost 14 months (we had some decorators staying), was left there as he was teething and it was easier than having to go and see him in another room and hasn't yet been moved back out (he's just over 16 months) as we are both soft and our days of being just the three of us (plus dsc at weekends) are numbered...

Scorpio, a friend recommended it and I'm glad I did. If they had been in our room I would have never got any sleep, just listening out for them all the time. And I was worried that I would have problems moving them to their own room at a later stage. Yes I did worry about them I suppose but I think most new parents worry about certain things anyway, whether in the same room or not.

I remember, for both, putting them in the cotbed for their first night and thinking how tiny they looked

DS was 15 months - as I am soft and its just the two of us. He was an appalling sleeper and was easy to get up and walk to the other side of the room - rather than over the landing. He is now 20 months and still a pants sleeper!

DD1 about 4/5 mths when she got too big for the moses basket, DD2 is still in my room as she still wakes at night (am trying to phase it out) so can't put her in with DD1 yet.
If we had 3 bedrooms she would have gone in recently. Which would have been about 9/10 mths.

About 15 weeks, as he would wake for a feed at about 5 am, take it, then go back down happily and chat LOUDLY to himself for the next hour.

Interestingly, he slept through the night practically straight away after moving out and hasn't looked back since - makes me wonder if we were disturbing him, or I was grabbing him and feeding him too quickly

i didn't get any sleep in the hospital with ds cos he was so noisy when he slept but there wasn't really any room for his crib in my room anyway so had he been a silent sleeper he still would not have been in my room.

DS- 2 weeks

This baby will be with us for about 6 mths probably, as we only have 2 bedrooms and can't afford loft conversion yet.

6 months, but what prompted it was 3 consecutive nights where he didn't wake for a feed. ds also like a piglet, got used to it eventually!

From birth because DH had to get up for work so I didn't want to disturb him when I got up in the night to feed. Also, I was worried about her not settling by herself when she was older if she was in with us from the beginning.
I had a monitor and after the first night didn't worry, depsite reading a categoric statement in a magazine that babies must stay in parents room for 6mths as it reduces the risk of cot death.
