Does my 3 and a half year old need a pushchair for abroad holiday?

We go abroad next June, we only have 1 stroller as DS1 wanted to walk from the age of 18 months. Whenever we have done a big walk or holidays since (only in this country though) we have always had it with us.
When we go away he'll be exactly 3 and a half. He's tall also. I don't want him to look ridiculous in a pushchair but I have no idea what the age cap is?! Or if it'll even be useful?
We have another baby now that will need the current pushchair, therefore I need to work out of its worth getting another.

The stroller we have is the silvercross reflex which I love but there's no way I'd fork out another £200 for this one trip so if people think I will need it, if you have any recommendations I'd be very grateful :-)

If you are intending to do lots of walking, then yes, a stroller will be invaluable. I'd go an buy the cheapest one available. Maybe the lowest range one from Argos. You need something light and flexible.

The nearest town and beach is a 15 min walk from the hotel so not miles but in the heat it may be a bit much. At this age is it likely he'll sleep in it during the evening too?

It depends really. My DD turns 3 next month and when we go for days out with long walks I stick her in the buggy. On a night would your little one sleep in a buggy if you stayed out late? This summer on holiday my DD stayed up late running around and dancing at the kids disco lol so didn't need one on a night just during the day for a nap and for walks.

If he’ll go in it I’d use it. But will he?

We got a silvercross 2nd hand one for holidays (£20) as our main one was bulky. Unfortunately my youngest hit 2 and refused point blank to go in one again. The more tired she gets the more adamant she gets that she’s not going in it...

Buggy board and a sling? Then can use one buggy for whoever needs it..?

My daughter used one when we went abroad and she was 3 and 4 months.

It was really hot, so she wanted to sleep in it if we went for a walk, say, after lunch. That meant she could stay up a bit later too as she was not as tired as she would be otherwise.

We got a cheap one from Gumtree for it, and just ditched it afterwards. Think it was £15 - all I was fussed about was that it laid flat so she could lie down and nap.

I would definitely get a cheap umbrella pushchair. We went to Barcelona when DD was 3.5 and would have struggled without one. V useful for the evenings if you’ll be out late.
I found a cheap John Lewis umbrella pushchair for £30 (probably more like £40-50 now) and then gave it to the local charity shop once DD was about 5 and could cope with holiday walking.

My daughter was nearly 5 on our family holiday this year and we took one. Lifesaver for evening walks / meals in relaxation. X

I'd get a cheapie, you don't want to be carrying all the beach stuff and a child- plus if he doesn't want to go in you can load it up with the beach gear!
