Growbag to duvet

Hello,

My DS is 15months and currently is in a grobag. He has now started to get out of the bag not entirely on purpose and it's waking him up. Last night he woke up crying, when I went in his room he was stood up holding it.

He moves around so much in his sleep I worry about him getting tangled up with a duvet

When did you switch over and did yours move around loads to

Thank you

I have a 14mo who is currently sleeping absolutely fine with a duvet and he is a very wriggly worm. He likes to fall asleep cuddled up with it usually. He’s been in a duvet for a couple months and I’ve never had a problem. Just went up a tog though as his room is now very cold at night

Could you get a grobag with a downwards zip instead of shoulder poppers? Mine was in a grobag until 2 and a half years

You could try the grobag on backwards to prevent him removing it. Ds was about 20 months when we introduced duvet but I think it's fine from 1 year.

We stuck with gro-bags until over 2 because my DS preferred them and tended to end up sleeping on top of the duvet. Gro-brand ones tend to zip down to the bottom though and have a strong popper covering the zip so should be quite hard to get out of.

You can also get Gro brand bedding sets where the duvet cover actually zips to the fitted sheet so the child can't kick the duvet off. They're expensive, but I'm sure you could find discontinued or second-hand ones on eBay.

We moved to the gro to bed (the zip on duvet) for our wriggly toddler.

Ds1 was a very wiggly sleeper and just couldn't keep a duvet on. He didn't like them much either. His first and second winters ,(July baby) he had grobags, but I found he was even getting tangled in that so we moved to thick fluffy onesies. If it was very cold he'd have vest, normal pjs, socks and a onesie over. This year, he's 3 (4th winter) and he's finally grown to love a duvet so muck so that he sleeps with it totally covering his head!

Years ago my DD used to unzip her grobag so I put a hair tie through the eye of the zipper pull and sewed a large button next to the bottom of the zipper so when she was zipped in I'd wind the hair tie round the button several times. She didn't have the dexterity to unwind it so stayed inside it all wrapped up and warm.

Are you currently using ones with poppers on the shoulders? DD kept getting out of her ones like that, especially the ones with only one popper on each shoulder. We got some zipper ones (silentnight brand, b&m have them for £12 at the moment) and she can't get out of them. She does somehow manage to end up with it on back to front by morning though. She's also 15 months and I'm reluctant to move over to a duvet yet as I'm worried she will end up under it in the night.

Yea I have got the ones with poppers and he keeps standing on the bottom and pulling it down.

I'll have a look into the different ones. I've just bought a duvet from amazon so will try it for his nap to see how we go.
