To dreamfeed or not to dreamfeed?

Hi all,

My DS is 11 weeks old. Since he was born I have been giving him a dreamfeed being 10-11pm depending on when he goes to bed in the evening. He is waking at least once if not twice during the night for food which obviously is to be expected and is absolutely fine. But my question is, have people experienced the dreamfeed actually making it more likely he will wake in the night for food? Is it likely to be disturbing his sleep pattern and meaning he is waking up? In my mind, the fact he is still waking up for food must mean he needs that dreamfeed or he will be up even more often as he is hungry. Is that right?!

My dd is 6 months and I've been dream feeding from about 12 weeks.
She was a great sleeper so at 12 weeks I felt like the dream feed was really helping.
Then she hit the 4 month sleep regression and has woken up every 1 to 2 hours since. I still do the dream feed but I don't actually think she is waking because she's hungry. I know she can go a full night because she's done it before. I think she's just waking up naturally and can't get back to sleep so a dream feed is pointless.

But you can bet I'm still going to wave my boob at her face every night in the hope it'll give me a couple extra hours...

Try it without and see what happens.

I used dream feeding to bring a feed forward so we got more sleep.
DD often wanted a feed at around 12.30am which was a killer. If I didn’t go to sleep super early I’d only just gone to sleep, same for DH.
So we introduced a dreamfeed around 11-11.30pm (DH would often do this one on his way to bed) and she would last until her usual 3am feed.
This meant I could sleep from 10pm to the 3am feed uninterrupted.
