What age sippy cup in cot?

Now that the heating is back on my dd is waking in the night thirsty. It goes off at 11 and back on a 5am. But I'm guessing house gets a bit stuffy.

I was wondering at what age would you leave a sippy cut of water in the cot? Dd is 11 months. I have one of those munchkin 360 cups so it isn't a free flow one?

Obviously I want a full nights sleep but also paranoid of her choking too

I'm sure she wouldn't choke on water, she may have it 'go down the wrong way' which would result in coughing which you would hear.

I wouldn’t ever put a sippy cup in a cot.

If the heating over night is a problem change it.

I would definitely not put a cup in a cot. They can choke on water and it’s just not safe. If she needs a drink, I would get up and offer her some.

Thanks I won't then, I just found conflicting information online and wondered what everyone's thoughts were x

Can you open a window or turn the radiator down in her room instead? If the room is too warm and stuffy she might not sleep as well.

I never put a sippy cup in DD's cot. Just change the timer on the heating.

Beckie1987 · 04/11/2018 09:49

Yer I'll just do that instead thanks

Never had a cup in ds's cot. Can you move her cut away from the radiator and /or turn down her room radiator. If it didn't have a thermostatically controlled valve they can usually be fitted.
