What can I use for toddler instead of bottle for nighttime milk?

My son is 2 in February and I'm trying to get him off the bottle. He still has a bottle for milk at bedtime. So far, we've had no luck. He'll happily drink water etc from a beaker or cup, but point blank refusing milk. I'm determined to wean him off it though, so I'm wondering what I can substitute for his bottle.

It's absolutely just a comfort thing now. I was thinking of getting him a special cup and a straw?? Any suggestions? Is there any options that's NOT plastic as well? Trying to more eco friendly. :)

Sorry I should add: the reason I want to do it sooner is that I'm due baby #2 next spring so would like him off the bottle by then so I'm not battling it with a newborn as well. Otherwise he'll be closer to 3 which I really want to avoid.

He doesn’t need bedtime milk. I’d offer it in whatever cup you like or water as an alternative. Just chuck the bottles away and explain they are for babies. We use munchkin 360 cups but they are plastic.

We used Moma straw cups. My dd loved them. We didn't cut out the milk though and I see no reason to unless weight is a concern. She had a cup of milk at bedtime until she was nearly 5. She didn't have much water or other dairy during the day so it was a good way of getting a bit extra in her.

My DD just stopped drinking milk once we stopped bottles. She was happy to use cups for water and juice but wouldn't drink milk from them. She loved cheese and yoghurt though, so we just increased that instead.

Thinking about doing the same and was considering one of the nuby sipping ones. They are plastic though. I can't think of a non plastic alternative.
I'm planning on having a bed time cup just for milk in the hope it will make the transition easier.

They don't need bedtime milk but if it's a comfort thing I can't see that it would do any harm.
My sister and I both have bedtime milk and are well into our 20s haha

It's just trail and error. I have every single nuby baby cup for my 1 year old the straw ones and softener shaped sippy cups

as he was obsessed with his bottle. He's a terrible sleeper and wakes up shouting milk every 2/3 hours.

Finally he liked one of the nuby cups and also uses the nuby gator grip for water. Have about 5 other types from boots that he instantly hated

You just have to go hardcore with it. Get rid of the bottles and only offer him a nuby or other brand cup. Mine whinged non stop but then he got used it

Good luck though

Thanks for the input.

Guess I'll just have to choose one then go hardcore with it. I know he's going to be a nightmare initially.

The reason I still like him having his milk at bedtime is because although he has lots of porridge with milk, cheese, yoghurt, etc, he's gone fussy with dinner. We eat at 6pm as a family so too late for supper as well. At least with the milk, I know he's having calories before going down for the night. So I'm in no rush to drop the milk at the moment.
