Good overnight nappy?

myotherbagisgucci · 27/10/2018 10:58

Hi

I currently use Asda's size 4 little angels for my 10 month old DD, they are fine for during day, but I'm finding that they're not good enough during the night.

Can anyone recommend a really good absorbing overnight nappy?

Thanks

Asda do a + range for extra absorbency (as do most brands). We use Tesco and have never had any problems with leaks. You may also try going up to a 5 for overnights but that seems quite big on a baby.

We use the ones from Morrison's - we haven't had a leak with them yet and she's almost a year old!

Aldi 4+ nappies. Can't beat them

Sainsburys are brilliant! I always used pampers but with my 3rd they leaked day and night, someone on here recommended the sainsburys ones and ive never had a leaky nappy since!

pacempercutiens · 28/10/2018 21:44

My DD has been in 4/4+ aldi nappies in the day for a while now with the 4+ being able to cope with her 12 hour nights. Only recently has the 4+ had a couple of leaks overnight.

I tried her in a size 5 one night and that worked well.

I tend to just go a size up for nights as long as the fit is still ok

Phoenix76 · 28/10/2018 22:42

Also an Aldi nappy fan, wouldn’t use any other now (tried plenty) including the expensive ones.

rubyroot · 28/10/2018 23:18

I found Asdas awful. Sainsburys are absolutely excellent, I swear by them. Never had a seepage and at what point my baby was breastfeeding A LOT in the night.

I think someone complained how much sainsburys nappies swell up, but they swell up because they absorb all the wee.

Cleo2628 · 28/10/2018 23:19

Would you ever consider using reusable cloth nappies? If so - totsbots bamboozles night time nappies are amazing!

Fraula · 28/10/2018 23:21

Aldi are the best! Pampers are awful in comparison.

Lazypuppy · 28/10/2018 23:54

Aldi by far

slappinthebass · 29/10/2018 00:24

Truth is practically all disposable nappies have the same amounted absorbency. And they can absorb a LOT. Most common reasons for leaks is poor fit. How wet is the nappy when it leaks? Totally saturated and they maybe over fed, not totally saturated and it's a fit issue

Bananarama12 · 29/10/2018 00:38

Aldi 4+ at night.

myotherbagisgucci · 29/10/2018 06:52

Thanks everyone, the Asda nappy wasn't leaking. I just thought she might be waking during the night because she felt wet. Especially as she'd fall straight back to sleep as soon as I'd changed her.

I got some Pampers and she slept through last night, so I'm hoping she feels better in them. But thanks for all your recommendations. 👍🏼

Pampers! What an awful waste of money... they’re not better than the supermarket brands

myotherbagisgucci · 29/10/2018 10:27

Good job it's not your money then @rubyroot 🙄

We use the size 4s from Lidl for DS. He's only 4 months but a he's a chunk! Never really had a problem with them, and they're not expensive. Used them for DD when she was a baby too.

rubyroot · 29/10/2018 10:31

Good job as I can’t afford Gucci bags either

stiltonontoast · 29/10/2018 10:31

Sorry to hijack the thread! My 9mo DS has started leaking a lot during the night, he wears 4+ aldi mamia nappies (he's 24lb) I've tried 5's also but they leak too. We've tried pampers and asda little angels but pretty much same problem.

He sleeps 6.30 - 7ish so over 12 hours, thats probably the problem.

Any advice?

Skisunsnow · 29/10/2018 11:28

I have 3 Dc and for all of them have used a pampers at night (one size up) and supermarket (Sainsbury's, Tesco or Aldi) nappies during the day. I could count the leaks on one hand. I find pampers much softer than the cheaper brands.

30birthdayholiday · 29/10/2018 14:18

I find I sometimes have to go up to bigger vests too, to allow the nappy room to expand. Otherwise I'd have leaks.

RebeccaCloud9 · 29/10/2018 14:28

We've tried loads and now always use +size baby dry pampers. We always look for the best deals (bulk repeat buy on amazon was best last time) so they're always at least as cheap as supermarket standard prices, and worth at pennies extra because they never leak for us.

RebeccaCloud9 · 29/10/2018 14:31

@stiltonontoast could you perhaps be using nappies that are a bit too big so leaking out the sides? 9 months seems young for 5s. Have you tried 3+?

Also, would he be happy if you reduced his night time milk? My ds only ever leaks if he has extra milk to usual.

stiltonontoast · 29/10/2018 14:50

@RebeccaCloud9

He outgrew the 3 and 3+ a while ago unfortunately, he's not massive but he does have a long body and the 3's were really low on him and we got leaks out the top.

Size wise 4's and 4+ seem perfect but we get leaks. 5's seem a bit big around the legs.

I might just try a different brand of 4+.

RebeccaCloud9 · 29/10/2018 15:52

Yeah I'd browse around. Some work brilliantly for one but not another - they're all different shapes and sizes!

spudlet7 · 29/10/2018 15:57

Pampers!
