Cod, are you the 'friend' Janice Turner is referring to in her piece on sex education in the paper today? I thought of you straight away.

An old friend of dps (v wealthy) was complaining about the traffic in the morning to get her 2 boys to nursery for 7.45 in wimbledon(she lives in clapham) When I asked dp what she did for a living he said nothing she is a sahm and mainly lunches and plays tennis

Do you know, I've been wondering and wondering who on earth reads Janice Turner (I mean for pleasure rather than just to rant) and now I know!

UnquietDad · 25/06/2008 18:35

I too am reeling at revelation that the Coddster was a goff.

Morloth · 25/06/2008 19:21

She seems a bit confused.

On one hand she is saying that poor people have to work all the time and never get to see their children and the next she is almost complaining about middle class parents spending time with their kids? So what does she want? For everyone to never see their kids or just for those awful latte sippers who are of course the root of all evil the bitches!

waffletrees · 25/06/2008 20:47

Morloth - you must know that you have to raise your DCs exactly how any newspaper columnist would. Otherwise they will get all judgey judgey on you.

Nice to know that we are low income scum because my chef DH gets at leat 4 Saturdays off a year.

Morloth · 26/06/2008 20:41

Oh thanks waffle! I just knew I was doing something wrong with the parenting gig!

Can't win can we?

;)

Yes ok but WHEN will people stop doing the spin on nurseries:

"doing fingerpainting with virtual strangers" [italics mine]

AAAGH

if it's a well-run nursery that's as true as describing your child's school teacher (who knows them better in a way than you do yourself) as someone your child "doesn't know from Adam"

and people only write like that because they KNOW that without the spin people will spot the Excluded Middle

I shall sotpee now.
