Terries; Does anyone know a good fold for 9mo boy please?

Help please, as I have no idea!

DS usually wears disposables, all-in-ones like Bambino Miosolo and Bum Genius or two part shaped nappies. I have tried out a few folds on a teddy bear, but ds is somewhat less compliant!

I want to give terries a whirl as he is a heavy wetter, so I need something for daytime which dries quickly.

Any advice much appreciated.

After 5 children in terries - not all together - i can only say different folds suit different children at different sizes. Have a look at the NappyLady's site - she has some good videos and an extensive range of folds: www.thenappylady.co.uk/news/terry-squares-prefold-nappies.html
That having been said I found the kite fold to be most flexible and suitable for all ages and both sexes. HTH Good luck - you'll save a lot of money especially if you have other babies.

Oh and don't forget the nappy liners. They make "pooh-handling" as easy as with a disposable.

Thanks so much cats! I’m a bit clueless! Ds is actually our second and (probably) our last baby. Dc1 wore disposables as I never even considered reusables with her Blush. I’ve bought most things secondhand though, so yes it will save us money.

So, I tried the bat fold on him last night and it held a poo quite well (with a paper liner). It also looked nice and soft against his legs. But it seemed a bit short on him when I was putting it on. I wonder if the kite fold or maybe a modified jo fold with corners not folded quite into the middle might work?

I’m using 60cm square just now and ds is 21lbs. I don’t think they should be too small on him yet?

Sorry for all the ????s! I’m clueless.

Just tried a kite fold on him and it fits much better. I’ve only just put it on, so the jury’s still out on whether or not it holds! I added a booster so hopefully will be ok.

You won't need a bigger one than 60 cm for some time. We only used them at night for older toddlers/children. For our first, before we discovered bigger terries when he was over 3, we simply used two 60 cm ones at night with the second one pad folded inside the outer one. Funnily enough a friend who also uses terries and has an 8 month old was telling me about something called a pickman fold which she demonstrated and looked good for baby boys as it gave a lot of thickness where it is needed but a flat surface under his bottom so you didn't get poo getting into and hiding in a folded area if you see what I mean.

As you are discovering most of the folds can be expanded or tweaked to fit. HTH
