Fuzzis issues - help!

Feels very odd asking for help

I got fuzzis a month or so ago - to start with they were fine, but now he is soaking after the first wee (on the outside).

I've tried stuffing more/stuffing less but whatever I do he just seems to leak straight out.

What am I doing wrong? It seems like he's having one big wee and its just pouring out before soaking in or something . Never been a big pocket person, so its all new territory for me.

i do a prewash but my bosch washer doesnt say temp of prewash so cant be sure its a cold rinse - to technical...will go and play with it some more! cheers me dear.

nappyzone · 16/06/2007 18:15

a slosh of vinegar? ok i just put mine in - the offedning ones - i put on a prewash then in cond drawer a few drops tea tree and a glug of white vinegar, on a 60 wash (usually only do a 40) with a tablespoon of non bio powder too. After the wash has done its bit i will put on again for a final rinse just to be sure. If they disintegrate or dye i will knock on your door for 20 lovely new fuzzis please - prints preferred! lol - thanks anywya i will give a go - im sure its just build up and also i changed my powder from persil non bio to asdas own so maybe its just not as good so will swiftly change back next shop and stop being so cheap!

Are the pockets all ok to be 60? (fuzzis need lower temps).

I do a healthy splosh of white vinegar, and use liquid so not much help with the measurements there - with powder I used to use about 1/4 of what was recommended for a normal wahs

Flamesparrow · 16/06/2007 18:33

Me too - wasn't sure if I was wreckin em

bagpuss · 16/06/2007 18:36

I do mine at 60 all the time - they seem fine so far.

nappyzone · 16/06/2007 18:36

nah - i cant decide whether my boy is growing (likely!) or mine are shrinking - do you think shrinking is possible when tumbling? i am a bit dim at times but surely its possible...

Flamesparrow · 16/06/2007 18:38

Hmmm... tumbling does shrink most things slightly... but then babies do have this weird habit of growing too.

Well, everyone else's do - mine seems to get stuck for months on end!

nappyzone · 16/06/2007 18:45

well its the rise they just seem not as high - i know i know its obviously growth but it made me think - i suppose i will just have to resign myself to the fact that my last baby is growing up! I dont think mine is ever going to be over 20lb and i am going to spend an eternity wrestling with the silly car seat! Still when he gets over 20lb i can start plotting to buy some more drybee patterns as my dh wont let me snaffle any outof stock as he will be in the next size soon! oh im bad.... Hes been in two part system today which is not like us - but they were cute!

snugglebumnappies · 16/06/2007 19:14

oh sorry, missed all this as been at DD's swimmingt lesson, nappyzone a pre wash isn't the same as a pre rinse IYKWIM. A pre wash may still be in hot water, I set my washer (a dyson) to do a rinse and spin first, that means the nappies are rinsed in colod water to dilute the urine, a hot/warm wash straight off will only set the smell in the nappy and wash the nappy in hot urine making it smelly....then as you have done a glug of viniger in the fabric softerner drawer, hope this isn't too patronising

nappyzone · 16/06/2007 19:28

no not at all - my washer says nowhere about a cold rinse it does have peculiar picture on it and symbols lol! beleive me i am no domestic goddess!! I am going to go dig out the manual if it still exists! may google bosch and see what those weird symbols mean, my mothers right im a lost cause when it comes to the washer!

Wallace · 16/06/2007 21:46

my bosch pre wash is 30 degrees, i think hth

nappyzone · 16/06/2007 21:56

i sorted it - you have to just start it mid cycle on a rinse thing thats cold then whizz it back to the start - what a pita, anyway as i was rushing it through when it ended the door would not unlock PANIC!! i could not get the door open at all and thought oh great all my naps are trapped forever. Anyway some sensor had detected id skipped a bit so had to let it run through again - well washed and not smelling pissy at all!

chatelskier · 17/06/2007 08:04

Flamesparrow - I have Popolino swimnappies in stock always. As you may know, I'm a specialist babyswim teacher, and having tried out many over the last 18 years. The Popolino ones are in my opinion, the best, both in themselves and for value,as they adjust really well, and fit for ages. If you want one PM me. I'll email you pictures of the colours I have in stock in the size you want. I am also now stocking the Konfidence nappy covers, now that some pools are insisting on a 2 layer system.

chatelskier · 17/06/2007 08:08

Just realised you can't PM me from here, but my email address is [email protected]
or my web site is www.waterbabies-hull.co.uk

Flamesparrow · 17/06/2007 10:02

Oooh thank you!

bagpuss · 19/06/2007 11:04
