What nappies do you use at night?

I've always used Aldi nappies. They have been fine up until now. Baby has moved up a size (4) and they seem to be leaking on her back/side. They leaked twice last night and twice today. When they have leaked today they weren't even that full! They have recently change me the design so it could be that. I also use reusable nappies when I'm at home in the day time so going to try topping up a disposable nappy with a bamboo liner. Baby is full of cold so I don't want her nappy leaking and having to change her clothes in the middle of the night. What nappies do you use? I don't want to buy the expensive brand ones but if they work perhaps I will just for the night time. Any advice from my fellow Mumsneters would be great xoxo thanks

I use Tesco ultra dry at night and superfit in the day.

Mummabear2212 · 19/10/2018 19:28

I use Tesco in the day and pampers at night. Agree with you re Aldi nappies and change in design and being more prone to leaks. I'd always used Aldi or Tesco for the day but now solely Tesco

Mummabear that's interesting that I'm not the only one to experience leaks with the new design. Such a shame because they were great value for money. Luckily there is a Tesco next to my Aldi so I can just pop across the road and test them out xoxox thanks

FYI the Tesco nappies failed miserably, back to the drawing board Sad

The only ones that didn't leak on my DC at night were pampers baby dry. With ds they were really put to the test as before he needed a nappy plus the potty training pants over and he still leaked, but never with baby dry.
I am going back 4 years though.

Pampers Active Fit (or cruisers as they’re known as here in the US). In my experience they’re much more leak proof than baby dry but DD is extremely active in her sleep!

GuessWho04 · 20/10/2018 22:03

I use aldi ones and they are great, no issues at all. Used little angels before in Asda, again no problem. Could try them.

E20mom · 20/10/2018 22:04

Boots nappies. Never had a leak.

HabbyHadno · 20/10/2018 22:08

I size up in Lidl nappies and put the same larger size pull-up version over the top. No leaks at all since doing this.

Floozymum · 20/10/2018 22:09

I had this issue! After size 2 Aldi and Lidl nappies were too bulky for my DS and lead to leaks where they didn't fit to him properly. But after trying lots of nappies I find Pampers pull ups really good, and also Boots.

Cloth nappies!

No joke, we find we get fewer leaks in cloth as long as they are put on correctly. Can go 12 hours overnight in the right combo. See if there's a nappy library near you for a free trial and advice

bershetmelon · 20/10/2018 23:13

We use Aldi nappies. Dd is in size 4s but I put her in the 4 plus at night for the extra absorbency

TwinkleMerrick · 21/10/2018 20:56

I'm actually thinking about ditching the disposable nappies and using cloth nappies at night. Any tips on what liners to use to keep her little bum
Dry for longer?

Popular cloth night options are little lambs bamboo fitted nappies with a waterproof wrap, or totsbots bamboozle fitted nappies with wrap. You may need to add a bamboo or hemp booster for absorbancy. We have recently been trying wool wraps which have been great but they are a bit scary at first!

It can all be a bit overwhelming at first so I would recommend joining the Facebook group Cloth Nappies UK, and check out The Nappy Lady website as you can fill out a questionnaire and she gives personalised recommendations. Also a local nappy library like I said. You put them on differently to disposables so it is useful having someone show you!

Good luck!

Always used the same ones at night as I did in the day... pampers active fit. Never had leaks.

Smellybears · 25/10/2018 18:25

I had exactly the same when I moved up to aldi size 4, lots of leaks! I now use asda little angels during the day and asda little angels at night but the + size. So far no leaks. Strange because when little one was first born asda nappies were no good for him.

Hannahkath89 · 27/11/2018 22:37

I use Asda little angles size 6+ and pampers baby dry size 8 for my dd however she is 5 and only uses at night we use regular nappies as pull ups leaked but if they can work well at her age they will be good for you guys with younger ones

GoJohnnyGoGoGoGo · 27/11/2018 22:44

I used to swear by ASDA little angels with my 2. But, DC2 has been out of nappies for a while so I'm not sure if they have changed them.

FraterculaArctica · 27/11/2018 22:45

Bamboozles with blueberry wrap.

SophieGiroux · 27/11/2018 23:16

I stock up on pampers when they are half price during Baby events so less than 10p per nappy. I just use them for nights and they last ages.

Hannahkath89 · 27/11/2018 23:17

They haven’t changed much apart from having pudsey on them at the moment for children in need I use them at the weekend as they are thicker than the pampers and because DD tends to do her morning wee in them as me and my husband sleep in a bit and she will usually jump in bed with us and we don’t want a wet bed. She likes her routine of breakfast, brushing teeth then the nappy comes off which we stick too for now as up untill a few months ago she wouldn’t take it off for ages we’ve got her out that habit now thankfully

Pampers mainly the premium protection ones and from when her bum was big enough active fit nappy pants. They seem softer than pampers baby dry. We are using up our last packet now DD is very almost there at night. In almost 4 years we've had less than 10 leaks and a few of those have been DH not pulling the nappy on right.

However, I think it all depends on the shape of your baby. Some people hate pampers. Worst I had was Morrisons own. They were like cardboard.

IsItBiggerThanTheBoxItsIn · 28/12/2018 11:41

Cloth tots bots Bamboozles with extra bamboo boosters and motherease wrap or a wool wrap.
